Raleigh Carlton Super Course

Found a Raleigh Carlton Super course for $150 on cg. Reading through other threads, it seems like it's a 1970s? Looking at the picture, it seems in pretty great condition, but wondering if $150 is too much. Other threads are ranging from $100-200, so not sure... The location is pretty far from my house, so looking to see if it's even worth going to check it out.

This transfer set launched 1974 so cannot be earlier.

Have not before seen one fitted with this model of pedal.

Of course it was the boom so parts changes from catalogue specification were often needed to keep the production line going...

Condition certainly appears outstanding.

Excellent value at posted price.

Size appears the 21 1/2" nominal.

A good size for you/intended rider?

Looks to be in fine shape. If it fits, this price is not bad.

The guy was willing to drop it to $125, but I realized the cost for toll and gas would not make it worth it for me. If only I was a little closer.. If anyone is in Pittsburgh area, you might want to take a look!

Capella lugs place it around 1973. I think they were only used for one year. It's in way better shape than mine was, of course mine was free (found frame ). I'd say go for it if it fits.

Before and ...

... after repaint and re-build with a non stock drive train, but what a great ride!

In that condition that's one hell of a price. If that were mine, there's no way I'd let it go that cheap.
The pedals look the same was what came on my 1977 SC.
The Super Course was by far one of my favorite models back then.

I would put this one in the fairly heavy premium range of $250 or so based om the really great cosmetics nice OEM metallic paint with nearly pristine clear coat. most of the time on boom era bikes the metallic paint is all but gone faded with rust.and the clear coat was never used or severely scratched up.
