Campagnolo Record Carbon Seatpost?

Campagnolo Record Carbon Seatpost.
Anyone have one of these or ridden one of these?

https://www.glorycycles.com/20carecas...0mm+684&color=

My LBS's shop owner recently got one of these on her limited edition mash...
I saw it and got some serious seatpost envy. They are ridiculously expensive...but I can't stop wanting one. I've got a Thompson right now and it's prob exactly the same. Well it's a third the price. Seems to weigh almost the same.

But man oh man. Me like!!!

No, I've not ridden one. But will say, that's some serious bling.

Yea it is!! It's actually a really attractive post. Just looked up the weight. It weighs 56 grams less than mine.
It's a super solid and classy looking piece of material.
No way in he'll I'm paying retail for it. Even with my LBS giving me a substantial discount. It's still way to high.
I'd like to find a grandma who has one in her barn thats been collecting dust, that she will sell me for 5 dollars.

Might I suggest you seduce your LBS owner.

Would it be wrong to ***** one's body out for carbon fiber bike parts?

From PBK, you can get one for $140 shipped. Still expensive, but...

Neat, but I don't think it's worth it.

Funny, I actually considered that seatpost, but it was for my full carbon orbea orca and I went with 3T's dorico team instead. I found the difference in price/ markup not worth the few grams shaved off. Pretty much overkill for a non - track fixed or SS....
Also you can't just tighten the living $hit out of a carbon seatpost if you didn't know.

Lol. Yea. Everything I'm reading says that the Thomson is a better, pound for pound. I like to get off my rig and tighten, lower , raise and do adjustments.
Specially when I change my chainrings.....it's starting to seem like getting a carbon seatpost is a hassle. I really don't seem to really lose that many grams too.

Not really a hassle if you buy a cheaper off brand carbon seatpost from like nashbar or whatever.... but then again that would be a downgrade from any thomson in my opinion.

Unless they redesigned the head the grooves are too fine and strip out easily. I had an older one and it ended up in the trash as it kept slipping. There are better posts that are less expensive. Unless you are getting a great deal....pass.
