Colnago Sportive?

What Colnago models and years would best be described as Sportive models. Sportive bikes are a little more comfortable than all-out race bike but still provide top-of-the-line performance. Sportive bikes have taller head-tubes, and might have slightly longer chainstays and wheelbase that a criterion or stage race bike, but is not a loaded touring bike.

Currently Colnago makes the C59. What steel framed bikes have Colnago made in the past that fit this description?

I don't think the C59 is touted as anything other than a bike that's made for racing. The Ace is their current "comfort road" bike. It's, of course, in a whole 'nuther price category as the C59. Pro racers have already ridden, and will be riding in 2011, the C59, as well as M10's.

That hasn't been Colnago's thing, any more than it's been Masi's or De Rosa's or Pogliaghi's. Unless maybe you go back to the 50's-60's, when Italian frame geometry was generally a bit different. But Colnago did make a small number of more versatile frame in the early 80's, which come up for sale from time to time:

I agree with Picchio atleast as far as US imported Colnagos. I don't think I ever saw anything that was not intended to be a racer or atleast a club racer. maybe they some local Randonneurer type bike in Italy or another market.

I'll be more precise. I'm looking for geometry that would offer a 59cm VTT, 210 to 230mm headtube and 415 -425mm chainstays.

Something like a C&V S-Works Roubaix.

Yeah, no.
And C&V bikes don't have "VTT's", just "TT's."

I think you need to look at seat tube angle as well, if you think "sportive" (which looks to me like a newly-coined term, at least it's not a real common one) implies high comfort.

something like this? (not mine btw, just thought it was unusual for a colnago to sport fenders)

Vintage Colnago w/Campagnolo Nuovo Record Urban Commuter Trainer Road - $1500 (S.D.)

Date: 2010-12-23, 12:01PM PST
Reply to: see below

Vintage 58cm Colnago frame and fork, all original paint and decals. This is a rarer frame with Campagnolo dropouts with eyelets for fenders/racks. Bike is equipped with a full early 1970's Campagnolo Nuovo Record group. Wheels have been recently built with DT Swiss touring/tandem rims and are a very stout wheelset (great for Socal's rough cement work). The bike is in very good used condition. I have purposely left the frame in original condition (there are scratches in the paint and decals); and all the components are very good useable equipment.

Please note: The pedals shown in picture are not the Nuovo Record road pedals which are included in the sale.
