Lol why do you guys question that I own a madone. It was a close out demo model hence the $1900 price tag. Reading comprehension will save us time folks get a clue.
I am already thinking about returning it though and getting a Lynskey instead. I talked to the LBS and he said it would be ok but I have to do it by next week.
The madone is terrible compared to the vortex.

Ride quality is great. I have the previous model (rim brake) and it rides very well.
All the reviews say the disc model is even better. They will take a 30mm tyre too.

I don't want 1x on my gravel bike, sure as hell don't want it on my road bike, but as always, do whatever works for you.
FWIW, the front shifting on both of my bikes, r7000 and r8000 is smooooooooth.

To prevent "cross chaining" your 1x, just bolt a pair of 42 tooth chainrings (1 inner, 1 outter) to the crankset. That way you can use the inner 42 for all the big cogs, then the outter 42 for all the small cogs. So it's just like a 1x but no cross chaining or all the pesky half steps or wider range of a properly done double.

Yeah, braze on SRAM YAW on a Praxis ring/Rotor P2M crankset on a disc frameset.. Had less luck with FSA (who does?) and Sram rings. Anyway, 1x shifts much smoother with the shorter chain and more rigid RD. The braze on tends it wander a bit rotationally, especially with the compact spacer. The FD will throw the chain overboard or not shift depending on where the rear cog is.

Yeah, thats too big as it is for the trash bin (when you upgrade to a Madone), but the tubes should spontaneously crack and then it will fit no problems.

Until I see you posing with your bike I really don't want to hear it. You of all people have no right talk seeing you are the most inexperienced beginner cyclist here.
But I'll make a deal if you share a picture of yourself with you and your bike holding a hand written sign that says seattleforest I will post my 295 pound body on my madone in bike forums...along with a copy of the receipt...and yes, it was a lightly used demo model which people seem to forget which is why I got the discount.
Once I post that I do need fitment help as my knees are hitting my stomach when in the drops. It's very uncomfortable. I am thinking I might need a stem riser in the short term until I lose more weight.
But I'll make a deal if you share a picture of yourself with you and your bike holding a hand written sign that says seattleforest I will post my 295 pound body on my madone in bike forums...along with a copy of the receipt...and yes, it was a lightly used demo model which people seem to forget which is why I got the discount.

1x chainrings and chains need to be replaced 2-3x more often. The narrow-wide teeth wear a out quicker amd you cant run the chain to the same elongation before shifting and chain drops become an issue. Just ask the majority if cyclocross racers. Usually a chainring is good for 1 season if raced and chains about the same unless you rotate multiple
