Promend has no website.
I found them on eBay UK so they are about. They are easier to grip with the tab than the original versions.

Having said this, I've never had an MKS pedal come loose without these clips. I use MKS pedals on my Brompton and they are taken on and off multiple times a day when communiting.

I use another set on my ICE Sprint X recumbent trike, but I tend to leave them fitted so use these tabbed yellow clips.

Good to know they're safe to ride even without the clip, just in case I lose one after removing the left-side pedal on the Brompton.

I've been using these pedals for over 15 years, and have never had one detach on its own. I've never used the clips... they're in my spare parts drawer.
I followed reports on the old Dahon Forum of pedals that came off "spontaneously", and could never understand how this could happen unless either the pedal wasn't properly inserted, or the rider's foot inadvertently disengaged the release collar. If the pedal is properly inserted, and the rider's foot doesn't contact the collar, it's very unlikely that the pedal would come off.
I use "strapless" toeclips, so my feet are always in the right place and don't contact the collar; this may be why I've never had the pedals come loose in use.

Why do MKS et al. insist on using those clips, then?

I had these small, lightweight, MKS EZY removable pedals.

It was almost impossible to pedal with them without pushing the release ring.

Why does this happen ?

Because first, the pedal platform is small, much smaller than the width of my size 43-44 shoes.

Second, because the platform is thin, thinner than the diameter of the EZY release ring.

So, the sole is at the same level as the release ring and because its wider than the platform, the sole push on the release ring.

With a platform thicker than the release ring diameter, the sole will come above the ring and won't push it.

With a wider platform, the sole won't be wider than the platform and won't push on the release ring.

Big, thick, heavy EZY platform pedals have much less risk of accidentally pushing on the release ring.

Small shoe size also reduce the risk of accidentally push on the release ring.

The EZY Superior do not have this problem because the release ring must be rotated to release the pedal, instead of pushed toward the crank.

Winfred the pedal makers law firms recommended having them so they cannot get legally in trouble if a pedal comes loose and someone gets injured. They can say did you use the clip??. Roger

Noticed a bit of play in the right-side pedal of my newly bought Promend PD-F57 removable pedals.

Just loosen the external bolt with a 6mm hex key, and tighten the nut underneath.
