80 Raleigh Record Ace

I saw a nice Record Ace by Raleigh in the local co-op serial number, WK0002931, worth how much?

Probably not too much. Better pix, desciption (condition, new parts and upgrades?), and approximate model year needed to justify appraisal of more than $75. The RRA was typically on the "entry-level" side. However, if it is an '81 RRA with a Reynolds 531 frame and forks (frame mfg'd 11/80 in England and painted "ice green") and Campy equipped... add a few hundred dollars+.

It has a sticker stating full 531, thinking $100 price tag should be great. It has suntour cyclone RD and power dt shifters. Raleigh marked crankarms and wheels.

Is it a made in England bike?

By 1980 U.S. market Raleighs were Raleigh of America (Huffman Mfg. Co.).

IIRC the U.S. assembly facility in Oklahoma for made in England Raleigh cycles closed in 1979.

As presented and described in slightly rough shape I would say $175-200 if everything is in good working order. Based on the components and serial number it would be on of the last of the British workshop made mid level Ralieghs from 82/83 made with NOS 531 for the time. These are nice riding frames just not as nicely finished as most 531 frame sets.

As indicated, it's a Workshop (UK) made frame. Can't tell condition from the pix, but in good shape a 531 Workshop bike should fetch $200 easily.

Nice looks a lot better nicely photoed from it's good side. While almost worthless ride wise love the double drilliium chainrings I would take these off and sell ($50+ for a nice set on ebay) or save them for a show level bike and put some basic modern rings on.

In 1980 it was Raleigh Industries of America Inc. with the head office in Boston, MA.

Huffy Corporation purchased the rights to the Raleigh band name in the USA in 1982.

It’s “Worksop” not “Workshop”.
