Upgrade vintage Miata

Hi all,

Have an old Miata 610 touring bike I’d like to tour in again. What would you suggest I upgrade ( gears and brakes I’m thinking) and is there a bike shop in the Perimeter area of Atlanta you can recommend to get the work done.

thanks,
Bob

You might want to post this either in (a) classic and vintage or (b) touring. Some pics of the bike would be helpful as well. As newbie, you can't post pics until you hit 10 (it's an anti-spam measure) but you can upload pics (particularly of the drive side) to your profile and create an album. Someone will post them to your thread.

The C&V folks are likely tell you to tour on that bike and give you ideas on how to get it running inexpensively. Miyata built excellent bikes and this is a very good touring bike.

The touring people might be more likely to give you some pros and cons of touring on an older bike.

Bottom line is you can do this and you don't need to drop a lot of money into this project.

Thanks bikemig

I'll do that. I used to ride it a lot and want to get back to it.
