As you say, you get accustomed to the temperature, and humidity (dry or damp), and it becomes easier than you would think. You probably get the same reaction when telling non cyclists, you get used to it.
I remember Jay Leno saying "The murder statistics here have gone up. But, it's OK, it's a dry murder."
I get that reaction from cyclists also! Many on this forum claim they can ride only when the weather is "just right". Oh well, to each his own.

Most of our riding has been on the weekends this winter, although the other day we did do an evening ride up the cycleway.

Each weekend we try to choose a different route to mix things up a bit.

North America is in summer just now ... great time to be cycling. Tell us about some of your cycling adventures. And if you've got pictures, we'd love to see them.

I've been riding less in the heat. After a short ride I go in a store and the AC chills me through sweat. Then I go out and get heatslapped.

Today was a good day for s 41 mile jaunt. Rode with some friends for the first 15 miles then it was down to two of us to climb two small hills and pass through two more little sleepy town to stop at a county store for a late breakfast or early lunch.

Left the country market and 11 miles later was at home before the heat came rolling in.

I'll admit right here that I do not ride for adventure. I ride for transportation. (That "car free" thing) I put in 1.3 miles each way to a meeting today, then 3.4 miles each way to finish the grocery shopping.

Most of my recent recreational rides are here (trips of < 15 miles are hikes, those of >15 miles and < 500 miles are bike rides):
Peter Rathmann - TripTrack

Some of these also include a shopping stop on the way home, but purely utilitarian rides are not included.

3 miles out to a dry cleaners and grocery store. 3 miles back home. This was at about 6pm today.

Question: on a "car free living" forum, why do you not include "purely utilitarian rides"? That would seem to be the whole point of this particular forum.

A sort of a hub-and-spoke event thing last weekend.

A 26 km ride from where we were staying on Friday to check things out.

And then this ... https://www.bikeforums.net/18990564-post41.html ... on Saturday/Sunday.

To work this morning but that was unremarkable.

Yesterday I rode to a coffee shop (and then immediately back) twice. Because the person I was meeting first pushed the time up by an hour and a half and then canceled all together, but both times I didn't get the text until I was already at the place! At least the weather was nice.

I don't ride my bike for commuting, so that means mostly weekend. This week. Had to go to the pharmacy after work I could have taken the train there post work and 2 buses home. Instead I decided to go home first and pedal there. Got my prescription and some takeout.

Tonight I have a concert to go to. It is a tight afternoon, but I am hoping to bike there. Way less traffic on the way home! And cheaper parking.

I didn't ride all last week due to out-of-town work. Bike commuted Tuesday and Wednesday this week, but on holidays yesterday (didn't bike) and today. We'll see if I bike today (Friday) or on the weekend.

I was wondering where winter came so early. Like many, I keep thinking of the coast when I hear BC, so I looked you up, and you're both pretty far north and inland, so I'm not surprised any more.

Please hang onto your local air mass as long as possible.

Yesterday. I rode through areas in my city where I hadn't been before. Also explored a college campus I'd only seen from afar or walked by briefly. I have been toying with the notion of going back to school for a while, and I thought a bit about it again as I was exploring the campus on bike.

I'll probably try to get a few more 2-3 hour weekend adventure rides in before the snow starts.

Thursday and Friday it was rainy and I would have taken the bus, except I didn't set the alarm early enough, so I only had time to bike. I used the rain cape both mornings, but didn't need it Thursday evening coming home. It wasn't raining Friday evening but I used the cape for warmth as it was colder and windier than I had expected and I didn't have a windbreaker jacket.

No biking today as I had one of those medical procedures older people are supposed to have.
