It works!
That is, 11 speed Campy and DT shifters. I got the Dia-Compe Ene Cyclo levers and tried them in one of my bikes. Worked fine on a ride around the block, I will try them on a 50ish mile ride tomorrow ��

Very nice looking bike, congrats. Friction shifting is no big deal, once you get the hang of it, which might take an hour on the long side. The only thing you have to remember is plan your shifts unlike with briftors, planning means looking ahead to when you might need to shift so you're ready because it takes a couple of seconds longer to reach downtube shifters then with briftors, so there is more thought to it. I like downtube shifters, the simplicity is golden.

As I've said before-friction shifting is akin to playing the trombone-you just know where it is.

I grew up in the 80s but didn’t get much chance to ride with these, I do have a soft spot for the look of steel bikes. I have a set of NOS Athena brake levers with qr button coming this way.
By June I hope to have my new Cinelli SC frameset which I will build with silver Potenza, those Athena brake levers and DT shifters; should come out beautiful.
