Actually BG - it's not matte - must be the lighting not picking up the highlights. Thanks for the compliment!

OH OK. we had some matte or satin black models here in '89/90 and I thought this might have been one from the Great White North

Here is a 97 Eros that I picked up for my daughter last fall for $100. The paint was a bit rough so I had it powdercoated and slapped on some decals. It will be her college bike this fall. She really likes the distinct color.

Your daughter will have a reliable and attractive bike to get her around campus - what a great dad.

Thanks. I bought her a good lock. I was told that a very high percentage of bikes stolen in Minnesota are stolen on or near the U of M campus. Hopefully it doesn't look too tempting to bike thieves.

Yeah, you would have to thief-proof that beauty for sure. Remember the 'good old days' when you were able to leave something without the threat of it being stolen. I remember that we never locked our home - we even lost the keys to our home for many years and never had any trouble with stolen property. Not today unfortunately.

Yea lots of stolen bikes there. If you just have it locked up for a few hours between classes shouldn't be too bad. i had a beater bike and always kept it locked while in class, then straight into my apt. Never kept it outside... I saw several times people vandalized bikes by kicking the wheels and bending them for no reasons other than to be a dick.

No offense intended to the Bianchi owners out there but this is my daughter's 'beater' bike. I am sure it is nicer than most bikes at school. I was looking to put her into a bike that wouldn't be the end of the world if it got stolen. She also owns a Basso Gap and Raleigh Team Professional neither of which will go anywhere near campus.

Now that bike would grab my attention if I saw it out on a ride. Titanium and a Bianchi (even though Litespeed built the frame, which is desirable too) does it get any better?

Switched out the Time Sport pedals for Shimano SPD today. I took the bike out for a ride on Saturday for the first time. Two blocks from my house I had to make a quick stop or get hit by a garbage truck. The pedals didn't release so I went down for the count. Bruised hip and really sore elbow but the bike survived without a scratch. I have a box full of Look and Time pedals which will be gathering dust since none of them release fast enough. Now that I have Shimano SPD pedals I feel I can go for a safe ride.

is it considered showing off when it doesn't have a front tire mounted? that's what I get for using this as my commuter haha
also first post in a long while and I forgot how much I miss these forums!

also my phone is giving this bike a more blue tone. It's slighty more green in natural light. just slightly. def not celeste.

Sure that counts but as long as your shopping for a tire buy two with tan skinwalls, like a Pannaracers Paselas. It will lighten the bike up a bit and look more original. I am going to take a stab in the dark and say you have a '86 Nuovo Alloro?

yeah, I've been looking around for tires. Those vittorias were great but I think they've had enough city wear and tear. I am looking for something that'll give me a good ride but last a while.

that's exactly right! you WOULD know haha

Took my Bianchi for a ride through the country today. Was very windy so I had to take a break and snap a pic along this white fence. There was a very cute baby horse in the background.

Hello all,
This is my work in progress, about 7 months. It will still take some time, but hope to have it finished for spring (everyting is too expensive and not easy to find). It will be all Chorus 10s, including hubs, BB and the rest. Just got the saddle and tape for my B-day, so big thanks to my wife and kids. This is a 96' EL-OS, wonderfull frame. The wheels came with the Chorus hubs, Remerx (czech guys - I think). They will stay, since Mavics (ceramic) are just too much to justify an upgrade. Initially, I wanted to put togeter DA 7700 on this, I have good experience with DA, and the set looks very nice. In the end, I decided on the Chorus - also looks beautiful. Can't wait for spring to try her out.
