Just wondering where my fitness is

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There's not really a helpful answer to the question that you're asking. You're somewhere between not terribly fast and not terribly slow. Keep riding. Ride with others. Have some fun. Suffer some, too. .

Lighten up, Francis, it was a joke. Your question was vague so I pointed out the absurdity of asking a bunch of strangers on a forum about how fit your are. Go on a few group rides or compare your segment times on Strava to get an idea of where you stand.

Checkout Strava if you want to get into comparisons of your routes and times.

For me, "Better than some, not as good as others."

What's going on in here? The question is "where is my fitness" then the first post is "thanks".

Since I took the name Dick out.

We have members with that name and can you imagine them being referred to as **** all the time? Makes someone have a complex.

What do you want to do with your fitness? Race? Beat a friend? Chase Strava Segment PR’s? Drop people on your favorite group ride?

How do you currently “measure” fitness?

I'm looking for my fitness too. If you find a bunch of fitness somewhere let me know. Maybe some of it is mine.

After reading the entire thread and realizing that it has been modified to the point that there is no point to it, I tried to delete my post. Apparently, I can't. What is going on here?
