that depends on what you call safe.
Cobb County requires you to wear a mask most on the trail are not.
With many people still out of work, the weather getting nicer, restrictions being lifted this is what you will encounter:
* the trail will be full of slow 3-abreast Walkers
* people who stop and talk in the middle of the trail
* people with strollers
* unattended toddlers with parents enraptured by their smartphones
in general people congregating which will make it unbearable to ride if you are intending on maintaining your fitness. At least on the Cobb County side. Paulding county and beyond is less populated and might be a better option.
Pre-covid I rode it almost daily after work. I won't be back until I see less knuckleheads.

By the way, there is a southeast regional forum you may want to explore. You might get more feedback in that forum.
