Brake Pad Life?

After a few days of riding with the properly set up brakes, I cannot believe how much safer I feel riding on open roads (well, anywhere for that matter!). It is like night and day. Before I had to muscle the brakes to get me to a coasting stop. Now I can properly modulate them very, very precisely. God, it is incredible! I can't believe I was riding around like that.
Through a series of badly timed things, I actually flipped the bike last year when I braked too hard. Have never done that and I was darn sore for weeks. I doubt it would have happened if I'd had the brakes set up as I do now.
They're PERFECT and my riding and maneuvering are all vastly better, including my safety! Once again, thanks for all the ideas and feedback. This bike just went from being a really nice commuter to being awesome.
