Nice to see you got it dialed in. One way to make a bike more comfortable is just to ride it a lot. It doesn't really get talked a lot about here, but you have to condition yourself to the riding position your bike puts you in, if you haven't already done that.
Riding in the drops, attacking hills, hard saddles; all that stuff comes with the extra miles you pile on.

That bike turned out very, very nice!
This winter I did my first ever comprehensive overhaul on the same bike, just a smaller size - took everything off the frame, repacked the hubs and bb, repacked the freehub (fun times!), touched up and polished the frame and replaced all the consumables. I've ridden it twice this winter during freak warm days up here in Wisconsin, and it's been a blast to say the least. I've rarely had such a sense of satisfaction like this.

I miss my red Trek but it's coming out of the shed soon for good weather riding. My other 2 400's are doing the winter duty.

I had an 89 True Temper 400 pass through my hands. I think they are great all rounders and love the red/black letter color scheme on them. I have an 89 True Temper 660 and find that the tubing on both to ride very well.

Got a nice ride in this weekend on it. It is fun to ride and much more comfortable than before.
