Any carbon comfort/cruiser bikes out there?
So is there any brands out there who take
performance as seriously as comfort?.
Doesn't make sense that too many would think much of a comfort cruiser being carbon.
You have to have a very different taste, but i might be one of those who would.
Is carbon for the race bikes only?

Cruisers are meant for a leisurely pace on mostly flat ground. Their geometry and riding position are the opposite of high performance. That's probably why we don't see carbon cruisers. I reckon most folks would consider it an unjustifiable expense.

In road cycling I never liked the looks, ride or durability of carbon frames although it's the best material for speed no doubt. A titanium frame with traditional cruiser geometry would be my pick. SquidPuppet has added good tips for cruiser components upgrades in other threads.

Making a carbon cruiser is like making a carbon beer mug... sure there may be a handful of people who might want one but in a practical sense what would be the point?

I've changed my mind. A carpet fiber cruiser would be 100% logical and practical.
Just like titanium worm gear salt and pepper shakers.

Americas Cup Racing boats, now hydrofoil flying above the water catamarans, are carbon fiber..

That's a good one. I almost paid the ultimate price, though. The Warden, to quote James Brown the Godfather of Soul, "she don't take no mess".
Back to cruisers...I wonder if Merlin or Litespeed ever made a titanium cruiser frame? It seems like it would be the perfect material for a beach bike.

Carbon fiber, no thanks.
I've tomahawked my aluminum mountain bike down drops and only scratched it.
I've seen Carbon bikes get Into various levels of trouble out in the single tracks and watched the owner cry as they got up and walked down to their baby.

On my bucket list!
Both of those are built for off-road use but one with 650Bx4.6's is ridden on the sand and snow.
One of these days I plan to build a proper carbon traditional (sort of) cruiser.
Classic lines.
Tapered and radius' tubes can easily (for me :-) be built in carbon.
Metal has to be hydro-formed to do anything fancy.
Also can use elliptical tubes in stead of just a constant radius.
I suppose someone could pound sheet AL or TI like a Harley tank?
Would have to get close to 3K for a frame.

I always lusted for one with an internal gear hub, eccentric bottom bracket for chain adjustment, with disc brakes, and all internal cable routing. My idea of the holy grail of cruisers. I guess nowdays I'd have to add 2.30X26 compass rattrap tires. Tan sidewall of course.

That’d be a cool ride for sure. I can relate to your old man emoji. Fractured my radius bone while rolling around in Orlando on Christmas Day....on a Sector 9 longboard.

Closest I could find. The shape of these 2 bikes is close, so perhaps with some work.

XDS Carbon Series - Firmstrong Beach cruiser & XDS Bikes (near the bottom).
Internal routing, disc brakes. So can carbon be cut to add a belt drive?
