Ezee Quando folding electric bicycle

Is anyone familiar with this bicycle.

One was just donated to the bike exchange and I have it on the bench at home. I managed to remove the battery from the holder. There is no key but the lock was in the open position so I was able(with effort) to slide the battery out.

The case is coming apart at the seam. Don't know why.

So, advise please.

If I do unscrew the case am I in danger of getting a shock or starting a fire?

If I get it apart is it worth trying to replace any dead cells?

What would a new battery cost?

The bike looks to be in good shape other than the battery. I don't have any way to test the motor at this time.

Is it worth the time and money to get the battery fixed or replaced? I see them listed at about 2 k new. don't know what they are worth used. Any opinion if they are a good bike?

You might ask ebikesca; they sell ezee motors and their owner is the smartest guy in the ebike business IMO.

Did it come with a charger and dod the battery charge? I figure it didn't, but gotta ask. What voltage does the label indicate? I'll assume it's a 36V lithium battery though.

First thing you would want to do if see if it runs before throwing any money at it. Find out the required voltage, then you get a suitable battery and test it by splicing it in..

A larger 36V tool battery, like one for a lawn mower would do. Maybe you know someone with a hoverboard. They use a 36V battery. I've used both types to run small ebikes like this one. Maybe you can get three car batteries in series.

If it works, then you can think about buying an e-bike battery and making it fit. This would probably cost $200-400 depending on what you buy.

You only need a 36V 10AH battery. Probably good for 20 miles. They sell these with unknown cells for under $200 on ebay. Yikes. I'd sooner buy one from China for a little more money with Samsung cells. In my opinion, this model might be a good battery from a US seller, but kind of large in size. Might not fit under the seat.
