changing my mind. the plan was to drive bike on car rack to work, bike home after work(for my 1st weekday commute), then bike back Saturday am to get my car. forecast though says rain/snow at 6am. not ready to ride new bike 22 miles in rain/snow. yes, I can use my old commuter (with fenders etc) but not ready for crummy weather riding yet. that requires a different kind of motivation I do not yet have. especially cuz I was looking forward to the weather tonight = sunny, 50s and low wind!

reminds me of a couple things when I was a dedicated commuter (though not everyday) when it was my day to ride, I rode regardless of the weather. non bike commuters never understood why I biked on certain days. they would say but the weather was better the other day or will be better tomorrow. for part time commuters, we choose our days pretty carefully for various reasons

if you are a part time commuter what goes into your decision as to what day(s) to bike? and when your decision is made do you ride regardless of weather?

I can go for a 26 miler when I get home tonite

I was going to bike today, but it is POURING in Chicago now. That, plus it's cold and I don't need to be getting sick right now. I don't have the right clothes for a cold and wet commute.

In my motorcycle days, I found that cagers actually gave me more room in the rain, so I'm not worried about that as much.
