The Pedaler swap has always had strong attendance from buyers and sellers when I've gone.

I hope that the trails are still open on the hills behind the shop (Berkeley hills, one of my old stomping grounds).

Would this be an inappropriate place to ask about the best swap meet in Sacramento / Davis area?

Same crowd, to a certain extent.

There used to be a swap affiliated with the Foxy Century. It would have been last week.

Hopefully I'll see some of you there. I'll be there with my son trying to unload a highly-patinated late forties Schwinn 3-speed for cheap! Also a motley assortment of bikes and parts, both vintage and newer.

Some nice bikes today at the Pedaler, but I think the weather/fire discouraged people. I want to thank Brent for providing me with an unsolicited ISO item. Hope everyone got home safe.

My wife and I rode the Foxy Century but there was no bike swap at the place where the ride started and finished... was it hosted elsewhere?

Not sure if they had one this year. I see one for 2018, but the 2019 event has a note that vendors be licensed by the city. That would eliminate most sellers.

Yeah, the traffic situation on the freeways was bizarre, with complete closures in a couple of places along I80 because of high winds sending thick smoke and embers across the road. I lucked out by going down to 24 and up 680, but found I80 closed again in west Sacramento. So I stopped for lunch right there and the road got cleared within about 35 minutes as shown on Google Maps Traffic.

I enjoyed the swap and got a bag full of bargains, but I inadvertently left behind a brand-new Ritchey WCS carbon road bar that I had bought. I believe I set it down while dealing and didn't notice it's absence until I got home. Next time I will try to remember to "velcro" any loose items to my backpack!

The sale at American Cyclery in SF on Saturday was interesting, and I met one CR lister waiting at the door before opening. I spent a mere $40 on Gem-Tape, a good stem, a 14-32t UG cassette and an unbroken 28.6mm Simplex Prestige FD.

It's a bit north of the Caltrain station, but not too far. The old Ritchey offices used to be directly across the road from the Caltarin NB platform...I remember staring at the logo many times!
THANKS for this postingcurbtender , I will be there!

I liked it, was convenient for me anyhow, and got some really good deals, some only so-so. Less actual Ritchey product and more independent sellers than I had expected. Street parking was much more of an issue than I believed possible in San Carlos' "Industrial" area, but no deal-killer at all for me.

Sutterville Swap in So. Sac'to always has an abundance of Schwinn-related vendors, ballooners and all.
And a good smattering of misc., last time I found a NOS chromed Bergmeister fork!
Last year I think it was, maybe the year before(?) this was one of two swaps held on the same day, within 2 miles of each other.
And the very next day (Sunday) there were two bike swaps in Downtown Sac, walking distance apart, on the day of the TOC race no less!
Keep an eye on Craigslist, use the search function for "swap".
