1989 Battaglin frame with Ultegra parts

Trying to get an idea of what this is worth. Seller is asking $800.

Wheels are low end.

I'm thinking $600, but that might be offensive to him? Its pretty clean.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Is that a tig weld? I see the top of the seatlug is not shaped. Do you know the tubing? Matrix wheels. The pump pibb and the undertube guides is not usual. The fork looks better than the frame for my style.

I am nowhere near the $800, maybe I'm being hardnose. With only the one picture and not knowing construction and tubes, I see that as like $350 at best.

For $800 Battaglin imo, you want something top of the line like SLX or what was the fashion of the day.

Its columbus SL tubing.

What do you mean by the fork? As is its not part of the original frame? My guess is he got the frame / fork and then built it.

I do find it odd that the seat tube is not shaped.

I*m pretty much with Mr. 66 only seeing $350-400 on this one. Pretty sure the wheels are Mavic CXP-10,s nice but a bit lower than the rest of the bike. Myself original or not I don' like the fork just kinda looks not right on this bike.

I’m a little more optimistic on this one but you never know with the current market. I can never find Ultegra-level STI for less than $300. Actually it’s often more like $500 as Ultegra is usually found on nicer bikes. Add to that an Italian-made SL frameset from a maker still building beautiful steel bikes, I think it’s worth more in the $500-$600 range.

Thanks for posting the add. After more review, yes Matrix rims those are common to entry-mid level Trek 1000~, sugino cranks and bb are not part of the group. Is this tig weld or internal lugging, I can't tell and don't know the brand well enough. Vegan leather, lol that's funny I always thought vegans had thin skin and would not work well for barwrap.

Shisters! I just looked at your local CL. I didn't see that much I probably should expanded the search some. I like these a raleigh and a couple of Schwinn.

I don't know, maybe the cost of living is different, I see $500 for a Bridgestone 700, $500 for an ironman master. Both of those prices seam hopeful.
