Burley Zydeco Mixte frame for a build
I've been wanting to build up a tandem for day -touring 50 +- miles. I'm thinking 26's for rough pavement and the occasional gravel road, flat bars . I need a low bar or step through for my stoker. Saw a ChroMo Burley Zydeco, Mixte. Looks like a good place to start, yes/ no?

If the price is right it looks like it would do exactly what you are asking it to do. Is it a frame or complete bike? If a frame onlt it might get a little expensive to build up.

Anyone have information about the BB, Chainrings & BB on the Zydeco? Good / Junk ? Having to replace them may kill the idea.

Don't know the crank and BB but one reason I want to get rid of my Burley Rock-n-Roll is the crank and BB. Mine uses cartridge bearings which weren't that expensive to source and easy to install. But if a spindle ever breaks the bike is done. Size at one end was bigger then a english BB so no taping and smaller then a PF30 so no modern BB available. Other issue is check their cable routing, mine cannot be upgraded to V-brakes and I just don't feel canti is up to the challenge the way I'd like.

Thanks. Didn't think about the cable routing. Not going to carry panniers so I assumed the canti's would be sufficient.
