Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

The potential for Galvanic corrosion jumping across the seat and chainstays is too great. I would not risk it.

Oh man. Never thought of that. Can I reduce the risk if I store the wheels in a different room when not riding?

Reduce, not eliminate.

lol funny...well ALLRIGHTY THEN!!!

Thanks for the visual aids thats just what I needed. Truth is earlier today I almost pull the trigger on a new Cervelo R3, but at the last minute decided to just invest about half the cost of the new bike into my existing bike....which is.....also....ah....new. Anyway gonna get some decent 40mm carbon aero wheels, and maybe some other road bling....

Thanks!

Thats the SuperSix that HealthNet pb Maxis currently ride, not the CAAD 9 or Six13 or System6 or whatever its called.

EDIT: on second look, I believe that is the SystemSix.

since we are on the subject, are the Zipp 303 really concidered "aero"? or should I go for the 404?. I want the best of both worlds, climbing and speed....so Iam concidering the 303's is it enough?

Do it. I just bought an R3; and conceivably could have been happier on my Soloist Team (Al) and some 404s..

I'd go 404. Deep. I have DV46s and wish I had deeper rims.

Go 404's. They're stoopid light anyway. Best balance of weight and aero.

So? Can't think of any reason not to do it.

Well, aside from that whole galvanic corrosion thing.

I'm glad to see your bike wears it's helmet near the pool...but where's it's lifejacket? Nice upgrade though, I'm thinking of doing something similar with my CAAD8.
