Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Like, I was riding once, and the music that I was playing stopped, and I got real bored. That was sad.

One time I didn't tighten the skewer into the trainer correctly and when I stood up to drope the hamer the bike fell off.

At least you didn't get passed. That's the good thing about trainers...

Stand-over on the trainer is not within the necessary margin of safety. I've contacted my lawyer.

I have had more than one flat tire on the trainer. Luckily I didn't lose control and crash since it was the rear.

OK guys, enough is enough

I was on my trainer this winter and asked my daughter to take a picture of me so I could post it here. My butt in that picture looked like the size of Canada. I fell into a deep depression and started eating Honey Buns, and now my butt is even bigger.

Trainers can be really dangerous.

That's what the RWD button is for. Drop them, drop them one frame at a time.

Ever drop something while on the trainer? Like a water bottle or towel or remote? And it just sits there, mocking you?

I know this is a parody, but riding trainers isn't without risk.

I have rollers and a fixed trainer.

Last February I was on my rollers. Silly me, I thought I was talented enough to ride and watch a movie. About 1/2 hour in I got slammed to the ground as if someone shoved me from the side. I never saw it coming and it seemed far too violent a fall from simple gravity. I dusted myself off and admired the pretty egg on my knee. Several weeks later, still limping, went to an ortho guy. Bruised some ligament. I lived, but was off the bike for over a month.

I haven't been back on the rollers since.

I once found a mysterious hole in my brand new sweat mat and took me two weeks to discover it happened from dismounting the bike at the exact same spot and twisting. I was really upset about it.

That fear is why I still use the fork stand with my rollers. Spent extra for rollers as opposed to a trainer and then I don't use them for their full benefit.

I scratched my quick-release on the trainers screwing them into the stand, and as a result gave up cycling.

What is this "fork stand" you speak of? I was planning on building railings on either side of the rollers until I got more confident.

I was making a spreadsheet for my training routine, and I cut my finger with the paper. If it got infected it could've killed me!

That's just silly. You need to use Excel for your training routine spreadsheet. Pivot tables, macros....here's the formula I use for the maximum workout:

=vlookup(A2(max(B3)/mid(A2)((IF(B2>A3),(vlookup(max(mid(A2)-B2),(min(left)A2)/B3)

Sad to say, I know people who have crashed on a trainer. Going to hard in a sprint effort, they fell over.

Sometimes my dog walks behind me when I'm on the trainer, and I have to yell at him so he doesn't walk into the spinning tire.

Carpet burn is potentially very serious.
(Carpet burn is not to be confused with 'road rash' [in any of the latter's several current definitions].)
