Lots of decent three speeds available on Craigslist. I just bought one for $150. Was rideable as-is but I decided to take the full restoration route. So far I have spent $400 on a $150 bike. I try not to think about it too much...

Still in the planning stages for the first club ride, BTW. I think the "train from Irvine to Oceanside and ride back" is still the best option, but am certainly open to ideas.

Here's my "hip" friend Mike (second from right) on a Tweed Ride that he helped organize in Santa Barbara...he's wearing a hat that belongs to me, by the way...
