Timbuk2 and chrome both make awesome bags, sturdy bags.

Chrome is a bit more expensive, but Timbuk2 isn't cheap. Which bag is the best? I'm not sure if you are going to get an answer, good luck.

I've used a Chrome, my roomate has a timbuk2, and I've had two custom mess. bags. My first custom was from Mike Arena (here on BF) and was a freaking awesome bag, better than both chrome and timbuk2. My current bag is a Seagull, and it is by far the biggest, baddest, bestest bag I've ever owned. Also, by far, the most expensive... Tons of cool features...hidden bottom, secret pocket, awesome organizer, tons of cargo pockets, awesome strap system, etc.etc.etc...

I've had 2 Timbuks for 10 years. One medium and a large. I use the medium every day and it looks almost brand new. I've been saying for years that when they die I'll get a better bag but who knows when that will be.

i currently use a R.E. Load Deluxe for work. I drive a scooter in the summer and some times i need to carry a lot of camera equipment and that bag is huge. When i am on my bike, i use a Chrome Metro. i wish i got the Kremlin, but i was drunk, I love Deschutes Brewery and a bunch of samplers (they lead to lots of pints). The chrome works great on the bike.
i don't use the R.E. Load on my bike because, well it is newer and i already had all my bike tools and rain jacket and my "what nots" in the chrome. That and the strap is not worn in yet, so it is hard to adjust on the go. getting better every day. rock it in the rain a few times and it should be fine. every time it gets wet it soften ups a little more and slide easier one handed.
I think i may get a Seagul, because i can't help myself to not get one.

Chrome Metropolis. I like it but dollar for dollar there's probably better out there. Overpriced.

I like the seagull black bags, for those who have them, what size did you get? Medium or large? And how much can you carry with it?

Chrome Citizen work fine for me. Just ordered a SAG messenger bag, it was $130 for the largest size (which is less than what my citizen cost) and is about as large as the Metropolis. But theres a pricey shipping fee.

I just bought the SAG messenger bag from a guy locally. You won't be disappointed. But the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a quick release type strap like Chrome does.

My backpack has been doing great, and I recently stopped into their Columbus shop and said "hi." And, Adam, one of the people who sews the bags recognized me, and remembered my name and bag. Keep in mind that I'm not even from Columbus. How's that customer service for you? Seagull also sponsored a race of mine and did an amazing job with everything.

I have a smaller chrome bag I use when carrying not much, but I much prefer my Seagull.

I rock a Chrome Citizen, I used to rock at North Face Big Shot backpack that worked awesome on my bike, the waist and chest strap kept it from moving around. But then I got hit by a car and busted my right clavicle so I gave in and got a Chrome, mainly because it had the buckle release and with a busted clavicle it hurt too much to take a bag off without one.

I dig the bag, very sturdy and holds all of my stuff with plenty of space.

can anyone compare a Seagul Medium (2754) to a Chrome Metro (2000)? The specs Seagull gives the CU Inches as 754 more, but they have RAW dimensions and then other dimentions. if i do the math the raw is 1834 CU Inches (to small for me) but if i use the others, i get the 2754 they list. there is an 8" differnece in length. do the sides really bow out that much? is the flap over sized to cover them?

I doubt it's the best, but it cost me a song and it's a HELL of a lot better than the surplus paratrooper bag I was using before.

It can't carry a TON of stuff, but neither can I. As it stands, it can carry about as much as I can. Maybe I'll upgrade to a bigger, better bag when I upgrade to some bigger, better muscles.

Black bag med. carries lots of stuff...but of course i judge my space by beers-so that equals 2 12packs haha but i use it for my overnight bag and it easily carries shoes,pants,shirts,tools,and lock. Its got a place for a mini lock to slide thru right on the front of the strap but im not sure if its meant to be there, but it is easy as shiz to use.
