Hey Fellas,

It's time to downgrade, upgrade?, my carbon slab saddle to one that'll do me right. What do you think of the new saddles with the very wide front nose section like the Specialized Power Pro Elaston and the Shimano Pro Stealth? My sitbones are very narrow, <130, and so my legs are close together naturally. Anyone have any problems with the wide front rubbing on their inner thighs? I'm worried specifically about pinching a nerve on the downstroke since the sides are so wide

I had all sorts of saddle issues, switched to a Specialized Power Pro, and have been loving it ever since, real game changer saddle for me.

Try an SMP stratos. Made for narrow sitbones and has normal padding, not minimal like the blaster.

Would you recommend for narrow sitbones? How does the wider nose feel?

DaveSSS the SMP is too curved for me. Surprisingly the most comfortable saddle I've had was a no-name San Marcos and a Selle Italia, both were flat

I have narrower sit bones, being only 138lbs and 5'6" i'm on the smaller side, and I find it extremely comfortable. Funny story,I previously had the selle italia (it came with my bike) and I hated it, I moved around constantly, had numbness past 2hrs and excruciating back pain around 80 mi into longer rides, the power arc solved all of these. Everyone's different though, I say give it a shot and return if you don't like.

Your seat bones are narrower than mine...I measured on their digital system at 134. They suggested the Power Expert in a 155 for a road bike of traditional geometry. I have a modest saddle to bar drop on it. I was very comfortable on a 4 hour ride. None of my usual sliding around fore and aft, and no pressure spots. There was such a short nose, that I didn't notice the width through the middle to back like I thought I might. But of course, as with most things saddle, that could just be for me. as much as I like it, I'm not to the point that I will be swapping it out on my other bikes where the brooks cambiums seem to be working decently.

Getting the correct angle can be an issue with the SMP saddles. I use a 2 bolt rocker style fsa post the permits fine angle adjustments. I use a digital level to set the angle. With the raised tail you may need a downward nose of 3 to 5 degrees. On the road, i experiment with a half turn of each bolt to raise or lower the nose.
