SRAM Rival FD adjustment driving me NUTS!!!!!!
Building up the 2006 Cannondale CAAD8 frame I picked up. SRAM Red crankset, SRAM Force 2x10 brifters. While a bit older, still in great shape. Decided to pair them with Rival FD and RD... The Rival short cage RD was used, settled in nicely and adjusted well. The front is new and driving me nuts. It did not include an inline adjuster. I''m going to guess I need them. I bought these, but intended to get some to fit the frame cable stops instead... I didn't think I'd need them at all. But I reckon I do. Am I missing something?
And not sure the KMC chain I am using should be as noisy as it is. Seems to be the loudest at the higher and lower gears. I have the same chain on another 2x10 bike and not so much noise.

I'm not happy with this chain on the SRAM crankset. Too noisy. Ordered a SRAM 1031 chain.
Back to trying to adjust the FD. I'm not far from getting a Shimano 105 or better FD...

I'd recommend upgrading to the yaw FD. Also yes you will need an inline adjuster for the inevitable cable stretch and if you aren't able to remove most of the slack during the initial install.

And only adjust those with a slack cable. (Shift into low or manually relieve spring pressure at the der.) They're difficult at best, or may strip at worst otherwise. I think frame stops are easier and more durable.
And be sure the der is installed straight and at the right height. And begin with the low limit screw dialed in correctly. Sorry if you know all this.

Even though I used KMC on another 2x10 build, it just doesn't seem to be working the way it should. So a SRAM 1031 chain is on it's way. I'm a bit disappointed as I've used KMC chain for several other bikes.
