aaaaaaahahahhahhrrrrrrrrggh: the winter rant twitter thread.
I've been cooped up too long. This is seriously bad for my mental health. I need to move to...someplace like Chicago with an easier winter. I'm not serious; but I totally am.
hows the weather in wisconsin? you guys doing better than we poor chicagoins? If its better I'm gonna load the bike and drive up there just to ride for a few hours...I don't care about the cold, but the damn ice/slush/sleet/snow pellets/fog/rain/hail and whatever else we've gotten this last week is killing me.
feel free to follow suit below

Here in Wisconsin we're having a great winter. Lots of cold and snow. After the wettest Xmas on record which melted most of our snow, today it's snowing again so skiing is back ON !
Our first XC ski race is next Saturday in Waukesha. If that doesn't happen, I'm heading up to Ishpeming for some ski jumping at Suicide Bowl.
Tonight, after dinner, I'll go skiing over at Whitnall Park with the head lamp. Should be cool.

Try to do something different that the weather allows. As for me, I HAVE to have fresh air. I have some awesome snowshoes that I'm planning to use tomorrow! I also like to get out for a run as soon as streets and sidewalks are cleared. Winter here is too long to spend it just waiting around for the first spring day we can ride outdoors. good luck. I'm finding it more difficult every year. BTW, cute dog
Also, I somehow posted this to your profile! Sorry...it's the new forum

Alright, psi...we're cut from the same cloth. I rode the CX bike today, did about 2 hrs. other than absolutely crazy drivers it was a good day. Give me a few more days--or a few more weather systems, I'll be back and grumpy as ever.

Genetics have failed me
Psi's results were probably so bad to be even considered OTB fodder and the team didn't want to be embarrassed any further

Its a crappy story. Here it is, from Road Racing forum.
Its an absolutely awful story, but one where Psi will come out ahead in the end.

Psi- I am looking for a team!
Personally I am loving the weather! I have been in Naperville for the last 10 days and have been riding my Frankenbike on the snow covered DuPage River Path and it has been a blast! Today I toook a turn completely sideways and crashed!

I'm in the hunt for a winter bike, something vintage that will take fenders and a rack. Once I get that together, I'll ride weather-be-damned.

I try to get out at least once a week for a quick 5 or 10 mile ride, enough for me to keep what's left of my sanity. Last week, I put on my rain suit and went out in the rain. 45 degrees and rain. And wind. I felt much better. Yesterday I had lots of sun, but it was 24 degrees with a wind chill of 14, and 20 mph winds. I decided it was too cold. Now I regret not going. Bleh. I need to find a different route anyway. Maybe this weekend.

^go away. ()
Since I posted this thread, I've had a change of lifestyle. I now ride whatever the weather. As long as the streets are clear, I'm going to ride.
I now commute somewhere between 6-8 hours each week and I've done several long rides 40-50 miles. Totaling around 10-12 hours/week.
Crazy, you say? Perhaps. But I've not touched the trainer in three weeks. I'm happier for it...perhaps not any stronger, but happier for sure. If you get the right gear there is NO reason to stay inside as long as you don't want to.
...I'm sure many agree.

Looks like you've got it covered, Barrettscv.
Ok, so this is now the "I'm trapped in the Palmer House with 2300 high school Model UN'ers -- advising and chaperoning my students (easy) and feeling bad for faculty who brought a bunch of complete idiots" thread.
...help. My only way out is to pay for the internets. omg. ef this, I'm not doing this anymore, next year someone else will lead the trip, I'll help, but I don't want to be the point man.

I don't know what all the moaning is about ... how many times has it been 10 below zero? We haven't even had that much snow! It's been a pretty wimpy winter if you ask me.
