KHS Serial Number

Hello!

Very new to the community and first time poster. I had a question and googling has led me here. I am looking at a KHS Alite 2000 on the used market (in Ontario) and wanted to find the serial number.

I know in 99 percent it's on the bottom of the crank, but it's not. And there are no visible signs of grinding/repainting as the paint matches everywhere and decals are in tact. Meaning the guy would of had to gone through a lot of work to get rid of it.

I have found a stamped "7" on the bottom bracket opposite the de-railer but that's it, no other numbers in or around there.

Not on stearing column, not on seat tube. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
M@

2 posts... and already getting antsy.

It's not rocket science. You have the bike in front of you. If you can't see the number, there's none.

I've had bikes where the serial was on a sticker, that was either really easy to remove, or that got erased very easily when you used any solvent based cleaner on it.

The 7 would point to the bike being manufactured in 2007 is all I can say.

My 2015 KHS MTB has the serial number on the bottom bracket....it runs parrallel to the chain rings...it is either painted on or an appliqué of some kind, not engraved. Hope this helps.

Thank you! Your passive aggressive sarcasm is appreciated, and encouraged. Didn't know that serials were on stickers, so that must of been it, given age of bike.

Ya, it must of been a sticker like ChinookTx said. So I guess she's lost. Thanks!

You can also contact the two Ottawa area KHS retailers (Dinardo or Kunsdstad sports) if there is a serial number they would know exactly where it is on the bike.
