Thought I'd try out a touring bike
I found this on a local Facebook marketplace. It only had a couple pictures but it looked decent. Drove 2 hrs to see it and wasn't disappointed. Everything works and it rides nice. I just need to clean it up a little more. And for$100 I couldn't resist

You got one of the best in its class at an amazing price. I hope it fits you. Perhaps the saddle height was set by the previous owner, but as it is so low, it's a sign the bike is too big.

Yes I haven't had a chance to raise the saddle yet. It fits but it's at my upper limit at 60 cm. I either need to get a new saddle or try and reglue the cover on the one that's on it.

With the original radial tires, too. The tires are worth as much as you paid for the bike. There seems to be a seat tube decal missing??

I am trying to figure out what year this bike it by using the decals on the frame. The down tube decals look pre 1986, however the Splined decal suggests 1986 or newer, but it doesn't match anything I recall for the 86 model year. The seat tube typically had a Miyata specific design on it, but not the early years. If it were an 82 and newer the decal should be there unless it was not on the 615 model.
The 615 model is pre 86, or did the 618 come out in 87?
The color has got me confused as well as I don't recognize it from the 86 and newer model years.
Now I am going off memory from my days working in a Miyata shop, but will check my catalogs if I can find them!

Most Biopace non-ATB triples were half-step and granny (50/44/28). I usually swap out the 44 for a 38.

If all you have in your quiver are racing bikes, pick out a decent tourer/sports tourer if only to have an appropriate bike to go on a credit card tour with some buddies. @Spaghetti Legs did just that, I’m pretty sure he had a good time on our PNW 6 day tour.
And I guess the opposite is true also, have a “go fast” bike for those quick paced weekend rides with friends .
The there’s the travel bike, gravel bike, mt bike...

You did REAL good for $100! I paid a a tad more for my all-stock low-mile '84 Univega Gran Tourismo, which was made by Miyata and pretty much the same as a Miyata 610 of the same year. Solid rider. As far as I'm concerned, you can't go wrong for ANY Miyata for $100.
That said, you might want to keep looking for another in a size that is more what you need - maybe a 56-58cm/22-23". Much like me...
PS: I know you're still lusting for my 57cm '86 Miyata710
