The Secret to Riding Faster
On Saturday night I had a steak and some spuds for dinner. Sunday I rode, and I was dragging. Today I had a Five Guys bacon cheeseburger and some fries for lunch, and today I was much faster.
I just wanted to let you guys know I found the right combination for increasing your speed. Burgers and fries.
Have at it.

The next step is to determine if there's a speed difference between McDonalds, Burger King, et al.

I have anecdotal evidence that good homemade burritos are the fastest food - like a vintage Masi GC in RED.
Sorry for lack of a pic, maybe later.
edit:
It's later. Would have pulled in a few more ingredients for the pic, but hungry people prevented a photo of the full condiment selection. Several street taco sized or bulging burrrrito size.

I think the secret to riding faster would be to use two magnets on your spokes for your computer pick up.
Set them up 180 degrees apart, and voila, you're riding twice as fast.
As far as food goes.....Pizza. It's the perfect combination of pre/post ride carbs and grease.

1. Lots of calories, in a reasonable balance of nutrients.
2. Always tastes good ... it's something you can eat, even when you're losing your appetite.
3. Yummy hot or cold.

In all seriousness ... I think pizza IS the ultimate endurance riding food. We've relied on it on the HooDoo 500, the 508, and RAW.

For me, it was a packet of nuun in water, a Sonic cheeseburger, Route 44 size cherry limeade, and family size onion rings. Because Dancing Daniel at our neighborhood Sonic makes the best rings, and he dances out to your table, like Ted Danson in Body Heat.
Burned off 1,500 calories during Tuesday's ride. Put 'em all back on with one meal. I dunno if that's fast riding but that's fast food for ya.

The Secret? Ride with slower riders, the theory of relativity.
Let them eat all the burgers, fries, pizza, lengua tacos. And you will be faster.

the more you eat, the more you fart
the more you fart the better you feel
the better you feel, the faster you go
So eat some burritos at every meal.

Not a fan of soft drinks. The sugar is bad for your teeth. Now, Newcastle Brown Ale provides lasting calories, especially if taken before, during and after cycling.

I'm normally a 15.5mph and can average 16.5mph on a good day.
Last week I went down to the beach and rode back with another cyclist. We took turn pulling and i really pushed it. When i caned my Garmin, we averaged 18.8mph for 15 miles.

I very rarely consume meat but during February's Bike Sebring 12/24 Hour I asked my wife to go to McD's for a couple of Egg McMuffins and a Big Mac. It's been years since I've had a Big Mac and it went down like I inhaled it. Hit the spot but haven't had another since and don't expect to have another until next year's Bike Sebring.
