That's an accurate description. The plus side to some of their 'ugly' colors is that not once have I worried about scratching it.

I feel like Surly just chooses paint for their frames based on which color they can think of a funny/edgy name for.

I've only seen it in pics, not IRL, but I'm digging the color. I'd love to build it up with silver components (plus maybe black rims) as a townie.

I like it too. It looks good in person and I'm not quite sure what most people who see it are complaining about.

That's what I was thinking - silver components would work much better than the black ones Surly has on their site.

If you think it should be the last consideration, then you agree that it should in fact be a consideration. And we're all considering it. So ...

This is like saying looks are the last consideration when choosing someone to date.

While other factors are certainly important, visual attraction is usually the first thing that sparks interest. We're only human.

My thought was, if they brazed on cable stops they should've post-mounted those Paul Racers while they're at it.

Hitting the trails. Going to throw on some 32's as soon as I'm done being skid happy. This is my first fixed gear build and it's safe to say that I am completely addicted to riding now.

I just put 32mm Panaracer Gravelking slicks on mine and they're pretty great so far.

Rounded out the fleet for the foreseeable future this weekend when my Roller arrived. Funny the poster above mentioned green bikes. This is definitely a pee/spicy mustard yellow color outside but takes on an almost green hue when sitting in my apartment under lower light. It's since be de-logo'd and looks even better that way imo.

Overall satisfied with Surly's complete components. Where I wasn't there was an immediate swap as you can see. May try some different saddles and tire sizes but overall -

Oh trust me I do! I've since put on some 32 Victoria Pros (which look like 28mm) and I have had to force myself to stop skidding on pavement because I ripped through my last Rando in about 2 weeks, but I enjoyed every second of it! I'm loving my build so far. Just put a reissue Turbo seat on, which felt like an ass hatchet at first and took a few days to dial in right. Next up will be a new stem and bars and then some new cranks. My Truvativ cranks are better than the Retrospec cranks I was using before I knew better, but the Power Spline Bottom Bracket is garbage.

Surly Steamrollin'

Love me some Drink More Water Yellow Steamroller action. Currently rolling on some 25 AW1s, but I'm excited to throw some 32s on it.
