What a distracting waste of broadcast time. Let’s just stick to Phil’s commentary with an occasional Bobke quip.

I agree 100%. There isn't even the slightest hint of a point in him being part of the broadcast. Phil called him out for giving questionable wind speeds yesterday, it was kind of funny.

All good with me. Nice to see a different view of the Tour. Liggett, on the other hand, is getting up there in age. So many brain farts. The other day I had to scream at the tv as he called Michelton Scott MICHELIN Scott non-stop a good number of times until he finally (or the crew told him) realized it.

I’m surprised that a mechanic hasn’t cur Steve Slanger’s mic cord yet.

Getting feedback out on the route while the race is underway adds to the broadcast, imo.

He has grown on us (wife and me) and though wife was complaining about the moto camera being on him earlier in the Tour, tonight she said, actually it helps when you're fast-forwarding because his face appearing is like a marker. Of course he often doesn't have anything that important to share but sometimes he does.
Generally liking the NBCSn coverage this year, got a good balance between the various contributors.

wasn't sure at first but he's grown on me too and he's not long-winded which I appreciate

I like him.
He's usually johnny-on-the-spot when there is an accident or a move and he is not long winded. Very good coverage by NBC SN

I agree, the broadcasts are pretty darn watchable IMO. At least they break it up a bit between all the different folks. That to me is better than just listening to the same two guys, as iconic as they are (Phil and Paul).

Glad I can watch Eurosport instead. Even delayed is better than NBC.

FWIW, I'm not sure Le Tour would be the same without Phil and Paul though. They are the patriarchs of this sport for me.

I like all the broadcasters on NBCSN. Bob Roll irritates me trying to use an accent to pronounce some of the rider's names-especially when Contador was riding.

I think they've dialed it in nicely now on NBCSN.
If I had to start replacing folks, my first cut would be Steve Schlanger and then very reluctantly Phil. I realize that is sacrilege and I can hear Cosell saying "down goes Frazier" as I ponder it. But all things must end.
Bob & VdV have a good banter and Paul Burmeister does a good job keeping the plate spinning. I like the injects from both Jens (love him) and Steve Perino (pretty good).
I had the NBC Sports Gold ad free feed on in the background most work days and thought Robbie McEwen and his wing man did a good job.
