2009 Gary Fisher Cobia Thrift Store Find

Just picked one up that looks like it was road threw the mud once. Even the rear cassette is clean. Funny, the rear tube stem is bad, and it looks like somebody put the bike away since the rear tire is not holding air. The front rock shox work, but are not locking. I thought I would have been stupid not to get it. I will get a pic up in a couple days once the frozen weather lightens up.

How much did you get it for? Which part is the rear tube stem?

The valve in the rear tube stem is missing. Bike needs a rear tube.
The problem is the fork not locking. The fork works fine. Not a scratch on the bike. Just some dirt.

Oh for some reason I thought you meant frame tube. That's what confused me. Sorry.

Yeah, can you believe I almost left this bike. It's not really what I am into but for the price I paid for it I would have been a fool to leave it.
And the fork works fine. My only experience with shock forks was on a 2006 Scott Scale and those forks completely locked. Apparently these are designed to have some give.
I was told the brakes last a long time, and are very easy to replace.
And this bike fits me perfectly. Any bigger and this bike would be to big for me.
It was fun to bounce around on it a bit yesterday.

Get rid of it, who cares, let some poor person have it. And that poor slob is definitely me.

I reposted one pic since for some reason the 4 pics I put up in January disappeared. The bike doesn't look any different except a different white saddle. I need to get off my but and put new brake pads on it.

I probably have put 900 miles on this bike and the brake pads look like the new pair I bought to replace them. No wear.
That being said BB5 are okay at best. The one side of the caliper not being adjustable made little sense. I know BB7's.

Well, I had to play with the BB5's again, but I am braking really well now. Only had the bike 11 Months but it is a great, and really simple bike overall.

Maybe I might splurge on the same year Superfly.......
