7000 plus km at this point in time, with 4 bikes.
Edit: 4350 miles. I should manage another 100 or so by the end of the year. I no longer set goals.I just ride.

Woman make me faster
Lousy year for me, so much has happened that kept me from ridding but I’m ready for the new year. So in terms of pissing contests I’m out. I think these last few weeks of 2018 will be a good warm up for 2019 though.

So far this year: 5,220.9 miles horizontal, 361,969 ft vertical.
A high speed crash in the spring caused me to miss the entire month of April, while recuperating.
I was hoping to hit 6000 mi.

5000 mile goal went out the window with my first bike-crash emergency room visit in September.

Looks like I'll finish 2018 with about 3,100 miles, down a bit from 7,300 in 2017. Had a rough year, between illness in January-February, being hit by a car in May, and thyroid cancer and surgery this fall. Had pretty good peaks in March-April with some of my fastest times, then July-August between the injury and illness events, gradually improving since mid-September, then another slump in November. Lots of indoor training sessions, helped when I did get a chance to ride outdoors.
Looking forward to 2019 and putting 2018 in the rear view mirror.

I live in FL and can ride year around and rode about 5K miles or so and therefore won't win any contests either. I too have backed off riding a bit from years past but this is based upon doing shorter rides with greater intensity. I like to go about 1.5 hrs and then get off the bike and do something else.
Canklecat I am so sorry to learn of your physical challenges. I too have had my share that affect my ability to ride as my body changes each year.
I just want to mention a friend of mine that was killed a couple of months ago as four of my riding friends were run over by an old lady that didn't seen them in the least. They were all riding into an emerging sun in the morning.
His name was Jack Harrison....a retired English teacher. Jack was uber fit and a prolific rider. He rode 17K miles last year. He rode all over the US and I have ridden over 1000 miles with him wheel to wheel in A group rides. Jack could flat ride and yes, he died doing what he loved. My other 3 friends are in bad shape. One is a woman with a pretty profound brain injury. One other rider will be in a wheelchair for an unknown period...hopefully one day being able to walk again. Most of the bones in his body were broken and his pelvis crushed. Not sure if the 3 that survived this horrific crash will ride a bicycle again. One possibly.
All four riders were strong riders and really knew what they were doing and a couple rode all over the world. Like can change in an instant. I am staying more off the busier roads. Its the speed difference that kills. On 45mph roads when motorists speed to 55mph or so, at this speed hitting a bicycle spells disaster for the cyclists.
Be careful out there everybody and pick your riding venues selectively.

4,000, 270k.
Busyness cut into some riding time, but still hit the major goals
and slight shift in focus from distance to strength/speed is showing up in the numbers.
Edit: Got up to 4250, 284k'.

Only 1,100mi and about 40,500ft, but I just started riding three months ago. Should be good for 5k miles next year if all goes well.

Aren't we supposed to be posting screen shots or photos of our GPS or something to prove it?
Or is this the honor system, like those envelopes in the parking lot at the state park?
I got fifteen thousand miles this year. Now I remember.

See below which is/was first post in the thread.
Maybe a little early, but let the insanity begin.
A few ground rules. Simple. Only "real road" miles count. Zwift/trainer miles should not be included. Honor system, of course. Pease try to post in miles, this is a USA-centric site, but if you feel you MUST, you may use Km...or start a "Kilometerage" thread.
I have 5613 miles on my Strava. There were a couple rides that were not recorded, each was about 50. So I will round it off to 5700 miles.
5700.

7126 so far. Not bad after a crash in early April and a separated shoulder left me with only 155 miles for the month.

Non omnino gravis
This is why I wait until the end of the actual year, and post my Veloviewer Infographic. I mean, I do the Rapha Festive every year, so even if I didn't ride for the next ten days, there's still no less than 312 miles to be added to my running total. December has barely started!

I'm way down on miles in '18 - likely finish up at 3,275 - lowest number of miles in a decade. 2018 was the year of 'life' in my house: only child's wedding, death of mother-in-law, downsized, moved, (the cursed) kitchen remodel.... With all that going on, 2018 also had a cycling highlight that I'll be proud of for years to come - I completed The DAMn: Day Across Minnesota - 240-mile, one-day, gravel race.
On the bright side: I'm looking forward to a 'back to normal' 2019 - I'm signed up for first two fatbike races in Jan & Feb, and planning to repeating The DAMn or first try at the DK200 over the summer. And lots of fun rides (long & short) to look forward to!

I have backed off on group riding. My dilemma is...these are my friends. I just like me better. Others I ride with who don't group ride but will pick up with a couple of riders feel the same way. Not worth the risk of managing a paceline and the unpredictable nature of cagers and or road hazards.
Its has worked for me so far. I am careful but luck is also a big part of the equation. Its kind of like Harley riders who log hundreds of thousands of miles with never a problem...riding along in their pirate outfits and no helmets. Better to be lucky than good.
