Easy. 4w/kg.
I've been sitting around 3.6 forever. Need to commit to both some weight loss (5-10lbs) and some more dedicated time on the bike.
My coach thinks it should be 'easy' to get there. So now it's on me to make it happen.
Stretch goal: 1 hour 40K.

I'm hesitant to play because I think the past couple of years none of my goals have panned out (as modest as they were) lol
Basically, would just like to actually increase my ftp as opposed to spending an entire year trying to recover after having my training derailed over winter/spring

I haven't raced in the last 2 years due to a crash and two muscle tears, just racing again is a big step. That being said, I feel like a new racer again and the last few group rides I definitely didn't belong out there so there's a lot of work to do.
Still haven't really proved I belong in this sport, so that's my ultimate goal.
Racing Goals
Cat 3
Win a race+
10+ Races
Non Racing Goals
Commute at least once a week
152 lbs (68kg) currently at 164 (78kg)
4.3 w/kg for 20m
20m PR up 20 watts
1m PR up 75 watts
5s PR up 75 watts
Those numbers are a unattainable where I'm now; easy if I can get to my 2015 form.

Junior, and to some degree me, have this collegiate TTT project going. The recruits are monster cardio guys from competitive running and skiing. We are hobbling together team bikes for them to borrow and see what they can do at Collegiate Nats with a bit of training.

1. Continue to lose weight. 35lbs down since August so far, still need to lose another 26lbs.
2. Place top 10 (top 3 Cat 5) in Ronde van Palouse. I was 23/27 last year and I'd like to stay with the main group this time.
3. Top 3 in one of my Tuesday night crits.
4. Race one of the bigger events over on the coast (Seattle).
5. Shave 15 minutes off my PR of the local HC segment.
6. Race in the state championships. I'm not sure if you have to be invited or if you can just go. They have a cat 4/5 race I saw from last year. More research but I'd like to give it a go.

I have four measurable goals written on my mirror that I look at at least twice a day. I have dates attached to them that will be hard to achieve, but I believe I can reach every single one of them. One in particular will be very difficult and may need to have the date adjusted.
-Cat 2 by April.
-Win a Cat 3 race before Cat 2 Upgrade
-140lbs by February
-320W FTP by March.
That last one is gonna be tough. Got a long ways to go and getting sick set me back a bit, but I think I should be able to make it.
Beyond those, I have an early season and mid season goal race. Need to figure out what I want to do late season. Contemplating a little bit of mtb racing that may change some plans.

How true this is. I find it hard to put a finger on why it is that I do this(or any) sport.
Anytime I end up sidelined for a bit it's amazing how much time I have to get stuff done after work. When I'm training my work days consist of wake up, hurry out the door, go to work, come home from work, ride, dinner and go to sleep. I'm lucky that I'm single right now because if I had anyone else that needed my time this just wouldn't work.
But I always come back to doing something. I guess it's just the pursuit of making myself a better person in one or another. Maybe that means I should do some upper bodywork so I looked like a normal human being and could potentially solve that being single "problem"

1) win a cat 3 race
2) upgrade to cat 2 (i have the points and our upgrade coordinator said he'd give it to me so this isn't really a "goal")
3) top 10 in a 2/3 field at intelligentsia
4) travel to more of the big regional crits (wilmington, air force, iron hill, etc.)
my schedule, especially the second half, is kind of up in the air dependent on where I end up starting my phd next year.

Also can I steal FF's "don't belong" feeling?
I definitely don't feel like I "belong" but it is pretty fun on a personal level! But also it's one of those 2 lives things. It takes so much time but it's so completely separate from "real life".
