Anyone use a VR/FPV headset for indoor training?

I've got a power meter on the way and am ready to move into the world of Zwift and such, but I need to free up space in my house to put a decent-sized TV/monitor, so I started thinking about a wearable headset as an alternative. There are apparently FPV goggles popular with drone enthusiasts that can display HDMI input, and there seem to be some VR headsets that can display anything from a PC as well using a bridge app. Just wondering if anyone has used such a setup. I'm not even interested in a true VR experience, which I know Zwift has demoed. I just want something that would be like a virtual big screen without breaking the bank.

Of course sweat management would be an major issue, but I have to think that some combination of headband, towel, and stiff fan could mitigate it.
