MetroFlash WiFi sportcam
re-branded from Polaroid? came across this by accident (used, but like new condition) for wicked cheap while looking for a backup replacement to my Polaroid which developed an audio buzz when mounted on the bars. I must have ridden the heck out of it off road & on hard ice jiggling something loose to cause the audio buzz. it's fine when mounted on my helmet or hand holding it. tried my bar mount on this new unit which also has the WiFi feature & it seems to hold well. the threaded tripod hole in my Polaroid has reached the end of it's usefulness. I did some rudimentary testing in my office recently but haven't taken it for a ride. if my planning & prep holds up, I will tonight after work. on the fence about ruining the audio on this one by mounting it on the bars. I think it's OK to do on the road or paved trails, just not those crazy rough gravel & rutted ice trails. been using HD not FHD & 30 FPS not 60. who knows maybe I will try the highest quality setting & never look back. but I love being able to run so long with a single card w/o replacing it.. I tend to keep everything instead of reformatting & reusing cards

How do you transfer videos from your camera?

I can put the micro SD card into a card reader on my computer or use a USB cable that plugs into the back of the cam after I unscrew the round waterproof cover. the WiFi version eliminates that need but I have no problem using a wire for that

gave it a go last night. definitely nice having 2 cams. 1 on my helmet & 1 in my pocket. of course riding at night isn't really conducive to photography, at least not w cams like this

after a dozen or so rides using both cameras I think that "Metro" must have licensed the design but I wonder if Polaroid limited their use of the same battery & sensor. the black one doesn't have the same battery life per charge or sensitivity at night. the Polaroid labeled cam isn't great at night but it's better than the black one. if I were choosing between the two I would pay extra for the Polaroid unit
