Lemond value advice

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lemond value advice

Novice cyclist interested in joing Lemond fanclub.
There's a 2002 Lemond Tourmalet that is supposed to be near mint on local-ish Craigslist. Reynolds frame. tiagra set with 105 rear derailleur. I have no idea how these bikes depreciate over time, and would appreciate any advice from Lemond fans about what I should offer. 500 asking.
thanks for any suggestions!

I have a 2007 LeMond Versaille that I cannibalized for parts. Best I could get was about $200 for the frame and even at that, no takers.

Yep, that sounds way to high. Lower end group set for the most part, 17 years old.

Yep, i recently sold my very nice 2003 Tourmelet for $300. It was upgraded with a mix of Dura Ace and Ultegra 10 speed parts along with Wickwerks chainrings and nicer handlebars. Took a while to sell too.

The older Lemond bikes are a great value, but not worth $500 for low end components
The Triomphe carbon fiber frame bikes are worth 500+

There's a nice Lemond on the local CL - 853 steel, 56cm - $175 and it's been there for >30 days. Depends on your market and how much you want the bike.

$500 is way high either way.
