Jet-lagged, still a little hung over, and having gone too hard the day before... Here I am living up to my tag line. #134. New kit looks nice, though.

Driving things just before we split the field and sent our guys up the road in the winning move (which was won by a team mate - not shown in pic). That was a good day, but seems like a long time ago.

is it me, or is 138 (or maybe it's 139 - the short dude with red booties) checking out your cottage of wattage?

Possibly... But it's a pretty substantial cottage with not much wattage.

So if anyone asks again whether cyclists are athletes, all we need to do is show a pic of NomadVW and they'll be reminded. 5 times.

Lookin' strong, man... Are you SURE you want to move to DC?

where do you guys get all of your pics from?

all i've got are pics from the ol' days in the US, or me riding a Gran Fondo?

Here's a 22 month old snap (riding more than racing, but I seemed to have attracted a crowd ).

We're lucky to have some good photographers at most of the bigger races in the area, and they post their pics/sell prints/etc.

The two best around here are Jim Wilson (https://images.jamesrwilson.com/2007) and Kevin Dillard (www.velophotos.net), IMHO.

ah... yes, enterprising photographers. they don't exist over here.

a few weeks ago a friend came by my race to take some pics. he wanted to surprise me. he succeeded, primarily because he arrived after my race was over.

it'll be three times in a row this July.

why don't you do it next year?

chances are that you'll be a shoe-in to get a place, seeing as there are so few yanks doing it. otherwise you can do one of the overpriced tours, or carpenter-phinney bike camp packages.

don't know exact amounts. i'm paying 450€ for a entry and 5 nights hotel with breakfast and dinner included.

factor in flight and possibly a car rental, plus lunch, etc...

Hmmm.......

Where would I fly into, and what are the dates? Just curious what a ballpark price on a flight would be. I'd also have to buy a bike case, so I'd have to factor that cost in as well.

I'm very interested. To avoid detracting further from this thread (my fault entirely), perhaps I could convince you to start a separate post with some information about it. Anyone else from BF interested in this event next year?

I'll always be 10 pounds too heavy....I can't seem to shy away from "good tasting" food (pizza, cakes, cookies, ice cream, etc.) for very long.

Sick on the other hand.....that's starting to bug me. Right now it's allergies, but the building at work seems to be a breeding ground for illness (always seems to be a lot of sick people around).

it happens every 1st weekend of july. registration is in early-mid october. it's amazingly well organized.
