Need your advice on JAVA Siluro 2 (2018) Aero Road Bike
Hi,
I am looking for new entry level road bike and came across JAVA Siluro 2 (2018)
Frankly speaking the design is too sexy...
Kindly have a look at specs and suggest me if its a good starter road bike for someone who is looking to ride it 30-40 miles early morning for health and fitness, its pro's and cons.. either in design, components or company at large.
Thanks
Note: Currently I am riding a hybrid with rigid fork and 8x3 speed setup on 28mm tires.

I'm looking to get this bicycle too. Did you get it? What size? I'm 5'2 and have a 27in inseam and would order a 44cm which seems like the right size I think.

It all looks very cheap and weird with cheap, heavy components and wheels.
I'd buy a used bike well before I bought that.
9 speed is over a decade and a half ago too, so couldn't get much more outdated.

how do you figure? it's like 19lbs only. You call that heavy? are you comparing it to a carbon fiber bike? I have a trek 2800 or something with a step through frame thats so heavy prolly like 40 lbs and I want something lighter. Have you even seen all the outstanding reviews on this bike?

A used Allez would be better.

I'd call that thing a complete tank, with zero of the durability qualities. I'd honestly be afraid to ride it over 5 mph.

For all the money you're dropping on these no-name Chinese junker bikes you could have actually bought a decent name-brand bike that won't fall apart after 17 minutes of serious riding.

By all means, come asking for advice and ignore what you hear. It really won't bother me in the slightest.

When you can google a make/model and the manufacturer's website isn't on the first two pages of results, that's a wee bit of a red flag to me.

This same frame is the one giant uses and rebrands as Liv and charges up the butt for. Comes from the same manufacturer too. I also had the option of getting mine repainted with a different logo on it but I didn't wanna cause it would have been an extra 3 weeks to wait before they shipped it.

Ummmmm .... Giant makes its own frames at its Giant-Merida factories,.Giant doesn't need to rebrand anything.
This is a cheap bike made in Malaysia. That is neither good or bad. It does explain why the company doesn't show up on Google---different languages and in some case, different alphabets.
Shimano has a factory there, too---maybe so no-shipping discounts?
The no-name parts are probably just what they'd be here---basic in-house designs of basic parts made with basic materiels.
I'd be a little uneasy about the aero seat post-- I have heard about a few companies who didn't get the clamping right, and it's not like you could by a replacement from a competitor,
Looks like ... just a normal entry-level mass-produced bike..
Winzip compression algorithm brakes?

Lol you guys are so isolated, its hilarious.
Java is quite well known, and DECA also. Usually Java are known for carbon bikes though.
I cant speak to how they ride but Ive never hard of a Java frame failing. To me their only fault is in their awful styling, not a fan of them shoving their brand name on everything.

I'm so shocked how one sided the replies have been. If it's not a mainstream brand from North America / EU, than it's crap.
To the OP,
Depends what you plan to do with the bike. If you plan to just ride it and not race it, than it's a good entry level bike. I assume the price is under $500. At that price, it's not a bad gamble. It sort of reminds me of an Allez Sprint or a Propel.

Hmmm, interesting, I was going to bash this at first considering it looks like a knockoff Allez Sprint, but realized the pricepoint is just less than $500. Still, at that price point there are some considerably better options, one example would be Nashbar's Sora bike:
https://www.bikenashbar.com/cycling/...d-bike-nb-sora At $499 it is much better specced and by a company with favorable return policies and warrenties if something were to happen.

After over a week of no activity, this thread gets two posts back-to-back within 35 minutes about how clueless and wrong we are. Interesting.

Between this bike and the hybrid linked in that other post earlier in this thread, OP is looking at some weird bikes.
Get a used Giant/Specialized/Trek/Cannondale/Whatever...something people have heard of.

Some people forgot more than 2/3 of world population lives in EAST
And some of the east manufacturers are worlds largest producers of some advance materials and OEM equipments, so I wont take them lightly, they might not have big name, but they are very much in game.
