Women's Fuji Mixte Dynamic 10
Hi,
I wanted to know what this bike is worth and what potential questions to ask seller to make sure it's right for me.
The seller posted this description: "Fuji mixte with new drive train and grip shifts. I'm 5' and it fits me well.
$200 obo"
About me, I'm 5' and plan to use it to go to school which is about a 10 minute ride or around town, small town. Previously, I rode beach cruisers for years and this will be my first non beach cruiser bike/non coaster brake bike.

The Fuji Dynamic 10 Mixte was an upper, entry level bicycle manufactured in 1975 & 1976. It was a fairly basic and heavy bicycle for the era. One in good, clean, ready to ride condition would be worth about $125. This one has been modified by replacing the drop bars and stems shifters with upright bars and twist shifters. The owner has also added a rack. These changes might bring the price closer to $150 but it's hard to tell the condition from the small, non-drive side photos. It might be worth quite a bit a bit less.
It's suitable for the intended purpose but at 5'0" my big concern would be proper fit. The 19" frame on these bicycles were more suitable for someone around 5'4". Even with the seat all the way down, you may have to fully extend your leg at the bottom of the pedal stroke, which is not a good thing.

Still learning
No harm in taking it for a test ride. Have an adjustable wrench on hand to adjust the saddle height. I agree with a value of $125-$150.

You must consider the expense of converting a drop bar into an upright bar bicycle. The bike shown has upgraded handlebars, grips, shifters, brake levers, & other items. Plus a nice rack on the back & a kickstand. Just the cost of parts for this conversion could run around $150 (up to $200 if new tires are installed). If it fits & you like the ride - I'd say it's a reasonably fair deal at $200. About the only thing that would come close would be something new from Bikes Direct for around $400.
