I got a pair of the Vittoria Corsa G+ Graphenes for $65 a few weeks ago. Great tires. They're on my 88 Miyata Twelve Hundred.

I think that Turbo above is the SR and the reason we only have two years of Centurion Turbos. That is Very Nice 85 @revcp. I will be surprised if 37s fit. Let us know.

edit: KHS and not a SR?

Yes. Yes, they are, and that's a very good price. And kudos to you for having a 1200. I love mine, but it's an 83.

On that '85: 28's will definitely fit. SOME 32's will fit. Larger than that....not likely.

Nice acquisition, congrats and welcome.
I'm envious as that's the year I'm missing to complete my straight. However I need 54cm.

A paint question

Does anyone know a good match for car paint touch-up on the '85 Ironman Dave Scott red?

A few have posted matches here. I think @rccardr last posted a match. Maybe it is Toyota mettalic red? I don't recall. But hopefully Doc will chime in.

Curios, if you had more than a scratch, how would you apply it? The paint on the Ironman I just got is in perfect shape except for two 1.5" x 1.5" spots on the top tube. First owner had allowed two scratches to start to rust, second owner did a good job sanding them down, but never got around to painting over them.

I just got my first tri-specific bike, complete with 'Vice paint for only $100. I've been riding an '85 Shogun, which replaced my '83 Fuji. Can't wait to pick her up this week and dig in. I have a 70.3 in May.

Most likely going to ride my Shogun for a race in two weeks, but there option is there for the Centurion. I'll post pictures as soon as she's in my hot little hands.

Ready to ride the Hotter 'N Hell 100. You Centurion fans will notice 3 Ironman bikes. I rode my 88 Purple Haze with the wheels off my carbon fiber bike Ashie my granddaughter (AKA Iron maiden) rode her Black Dog 89 and my sister in law rode her Miami Vice. Ashie & I made the 100 in less than 6 hours. My s.i.l. . made nearly 90 miles. This is her first year of riding and her longest ride. She is loving her bike. The girl in the blue shirt is my daughter who had to bail on us due to work. On a side note the Iron maiden rode a gravel ride the evening after riding the 100 and is running a half marathon in the morning. Yeah old granddad is a little proud of that girl.

That is amazingly awesome. Way to keep the torch going.
The smiling faces tell the whole story. You have the right to be proud.
Man I love those wheels you have.

Here she is after the gravel ride. I know its not a Centurion but since she is the Iron maiden I don't think anyone will mind.

My sister in law was riding along in the HHH on her Miami Vice and a girl rode up beside her and complemented her on her cool bike. Then she pointed to her downtube shifters and said what are those thingies are they your gears? About that time my granddaughter & I rode up and she said Wow you all have those cool old bikes.

A while later a young lady & I had our bikes leaned against a fence at a rest stop. She had a very nice new Pinarello Dogma. I complemented her bike and ask if she wanted to trade. A little later I passed her on my Centurion and sure wanted to ask if she had changed her mind. Kudos to me for keeping my mouth shut.

Great picture! I saw the temps were down some this year, only high 90s. Sounds like the granddaughter is working towards an IM event. She has the mettle.

Yesterday was the All Day Soiree as I titled it so I could needle my wife. The real hero was the weather. The high was 77 degrees! At the start of the half marathon in the morning it was about 65 and so overcast/dark that some of the cars with auto headlights were in night mode. The humidity was in the 90s percentile, though. At 10, it was still only 70. I went to the gym and did the swimming thing. Then came back to to office to get the bike stuff ready for the bike leg. The plan was to ride the Turbo. I'm having trouble getting the Turbo to shift right. The problem might be the Suntour barcons. The last 2 bikes I've fixed up I attempted to use Suntours instead of my beloved Shimano L600 barcons. With event deadlines I ended up swapping to the Shimanos. Yesterday I went to the bullpen instead. The 83 candy apple red SR Semi Pro got the call. Some paint job as the 85 IM up thread.

The final leg of my soiree was the Moonlight Ride.

https://www.sportsbackers.org/events/moonlight-ride/

Last year you could ride as many laps of the 8 mile course as you could in the 2.5 hour time limit. That didn't work well having the Hammer wannabes on the same track as the families goofing along. This year, they added a 28 mile course/ride that started at 5 and finished before the other one started. It was 77 degrees at the start and got cooler as the evening went on. Law enforcement waving you through every intersection. Hammerfest the whole way. Pedal to the metal. All I can say is wow! That was the most fun I have had on a bike in a long time. Short enough that you can hammer until you got nothing left and only have a couple of miles to scrap it to the finish. Long enough to eat up some time. Lots of turns and chances for drag races/accelarations. Chances to see who has the horsepower and who doesn't. If you get dropped off the back of a train, just wait a little bit. Another will be along shortly.

I would discuss the merits of a road triple and fricton shifting in a hammerfest, but that is for another thread.

You are right she has what it takes. She just finished the half a few minutes ago so she accomplished everything she set out to do this weekend.

Or find a Testors spray can that comes close. Obviously mask the area first.
