Broke my first 20miles!

Did 23 miles today. Normally do 10-12miles. I was doing 17mph pace with the wind lol then I turned around to go back into 20mph wind and my avg dropped to 12.5. 😒 I’m getting there. It’s nice to start passing some, I still got passed but I did some passing too! I’ll hold 10mile rides during week and 18-25ish on the weekend and work on pace a little.
Took two 15min breaks and a 5min bathroom break and fill water bottles. I want to do the 20mile run non stop will be my next goal to work towards.

Yes, keep it up. Nice job. The more you ride the further/longer you will ride. I remember when I hit 25 my first long range goal. That was a good day and a great ride.

When you get that 20 in without stopping, although no difference in makeing rest stops imo, but then what’s next big goal? I guess my point is always keep pushing and ALWAYS enjoy the ride, enjoy the victories!

I like the whip too!

It was HOT yesterday, at least where I live. I did just around 20 miles myself, and probably should have waited until evening when it got cooler. Good job on the 17 mph pace. That's way faster than I go.

12.5mph into a 20mph wind in an upright position is very respectable. Always love breaking distance milestones!!

Do you need knobby tires? A decent set of tires can really help, like switching to some Continental 4 Seasons will be flat resistant, good wear and traction plus quick rolling.

ya tires are stock at the moment. Been buying gear just got a garmin 520 and a few other things on order coming in. I do plan on switching out the tires though I pretty much stat street / patch about 95% the time.

sounds good. that's a nice # of miles to work with. I usually like a stop at the 1/2 way point in my rides for snacking or a meal depending on length of ride

I’m impressed. You would be passing me. Nice to see you have some new stuff coming. I think we all buy our bikes and then start tinkering with ideas, updates, computerized gadgets, etc. I’ve bought more than a few things for my bike since joining this forum. Lots of good ideas and information from the group. Enjoy your riding!

Passing people is a lot of fun. Getting passed, not so much.

But when you pass someone who has much nicer gear, and looks like they're in decent shape, that's always the best, but it doesn't happen often. For some reason (I hope I don't offend anyone reading this) I have noticed that people who use mirrors are always the easiest to get around, but YMMV.

Awesome job!
Nice to see another Anyroad rider, I just picked up my Anyroad Advanced on the 5th and am loving it. I would definitely second switching out the tires, I went with tubed Paselas since I ride a lot of rough chip sealand they really help dampen the buzz.
I see so few riders out when I ride that I wouldn't even mind being passed. Riding without the stops is a good goal just don't sacrifice hydration or nutrition so you don't hit a wall.
Keep us posted on your progress.

ya it’s a fun ride that’s for Sure. Just got some chain cleaner and some more stuff to haul around (tire tools lights etc) so my next purchase will be some new tires. I’m thinking about running the 28 gp2k2’s or gatorskins 32. most of my riding are on good paved bike trails then keep the stocks for if I feel adventourous.
