FSA Vero Compact vs Triple
Can I replace my Vero compact 36/46 with the Vero triple without changing out the bottom bracket?

No--unless you want a messed up chainline with odd rubbing in gears it shouldn't and the ability to jam up your drivetrain just by pedaling sdarwkcab.

The axle is longer on the triple, and that extra length is needed. The splines are the same.

Ok, how about this - can I replace my 36T chainring with the 30T chainring from the FSA Vero triple (both 74mm)?

Not so fast -- FSA specs the BCD as 110 for this crank: https://www.fullspeedahead.com/produc...-4636-CRANKSET
So I guess the best I can do without getting a new crankset is the 34t from the 50/34 compact.

A 33T chainring is the smallest that will fit a 110 mm bcd but it's not a significant improvement over the far more common 34T chainring.
