Old conversion, nice new Soma, and an SS 29er in the next few weeks.
I'm in the same boat as a previous poster (small apt. with a super fun living room/kitchen hybrid) and I'm running out of room between bikes, guitars, turntables, and you know, a bed.

I've currently got 6 bikes, but hopefully will have one less pretty soon.
beater Nishiki fixed conversion - Grocery getter/bar/coffee-shop bike. Soon to be upgraded with the IRO group buy frame
IRO Jamie Roy - commuter, fixed-gear training bike
'99 Specialized Allez Comp - my primary road training and racing bike, hopefully soon to be relegated to the status of rain/crit bike.
'06 Gary Fisher Rig - 29er SS mountain bike. My main off road riding/racing mount
'00 Marin Mt. Vision Pro - FS geared MTB last ridden on the Great Divide in '03, soon to be sold to finance a new road bike.
'99 Specialized M2 - geared hardtail MTB, don't even remember the last time I rode this one. also soon to be sold to help finance a new road bike.
Hoping to be down to 5 (two fixed-gears, two road-bikes, one SS MTB), after I sell a couple and get a new road race bike.
Still debating whether or not I'll even hold on to the Allez. Getting rid of it would help finance a new road bike, but I'm planning on spending a pretty penny, once I save up enough, on a new carbon road bike, so having a rain/crit bike might be a good idea.

damn, you people own a lot of bikes, i own one bike, i'm considering putting together either a fixed touring set-up or a track machine but can't really justify the cost of either when the usage would be so minimal.

1 geared mtb
1 geared vintage road bike
1 geared tri bike
1 fixed sorta-cyclocrossish commuter/jack-of-all-trades thingy
1 fixed road bike which will soon be gone.
also I would like a BMX and a newer road bike. and a tourer.
but I dislike having more bikes than I need.
(oh and one of these days I want a fully faired HPV. that's way in the future though I think.)

4 going on 5.
2 single speeds
2 geared bikes
The much anticipated IRO group buy will put the singe gear bikes in the lead.

One fixed. One road. .01 mountain that really has no business on the road. The fixed and the road are pretty sweet though. I am loving the fixed. My poor road bike may be sitting for a while.

Just one geared roadie, and a fixed conversion in progress that will become a donor for the IRO group buy frame. I think two is an ideal number for me.

one fully built track bike
two geared road bikes (one is pending sale, but is on the trainer right now while the other is my new race bike)
another track frame with no wheels
incomplete azonic dirt jump mtb
rebuilt my old nishiki conversion as a single speed
also want to get an XC bike. my group buy IRO is on the way as well. eventually i want to start racing cross too. my bikes are used when they are complete anyways, hah.
