cleaning condura?

so somehow, i managed to get a nice grease stain right in the middle of the pennsylvania on my new r.e.load (reference the custom mess bag thread for pictures).
the stain isn't too big, but i'm wondering how do i get it out?

i poured some water on it, and just rubbing with my fingers made it fade. is there any other trick to this?

needless to say i'm real mad the first big stain on my new bag is right in the middle. i mean i get my stuff to be used, so it's not like i'm gonna flip out if it doesn't come clean, i just like looking fresh.

Use laundry soap or vanish (or whatever), and an old tooth brush. Don't rub the stain with a cloth, you'll just rub it in more.

Sometimes grease/glue can be easily removed with lighter fuel.
This is my favourite solution to a lot of things at the moment such as getting champ grips off.

Goo Gone™. Naptha. Trichloroethylene. 91% isopropyl alcohol. Any of these things should work.

Dish detergent breaks down grease and is cheap and usually on hand. Scrub w/ a toothbrush. If that doesn't work move on to the goo gone or something similar.

Dish detergent also works well to get grease out of clothes. Dab a little on the spot before you put in the machine...

Cordura and messenger bags are machine washable. Pre-treat the stain if you want, and throw it in the wash. Hang it to dry, and because it's nylon it'll dry pretty quickly.

Careful with solvents, I would make sure they don't dissolve cordura first.

Its about $2 in the auto department, and gets ANYTHING out of ANY textile. I use it on carpet, clothes, my bag, upholstery, etc.

FTW, makes it look almost new again. The spin cycle wont work though so don't get your shoes wet taking it out, there will be some water in the bag, drain & hang upside down, dry by morning, or machine dry on low/no heat
