Any Guesses on the Value of this Lemon(d)?
This is a weird one. I assume it's a Lemond but it says "Lemon" and Johnson Siding on the top bar? Any ideas on value? Is it any good? Any red flags?

Nice bike, in need of a thorough inspection and probably an overhaul. Check that the seatpost moves if you look at it. I do think 400 is steep, considering the apparent condition. I’d probably offer 200 max if I really wanted it, and budget for a rebuild (tires, cables, chain, etc.)

You're right, I should have been more specific. I meant the 1996 and forward LeMonds back when they were a boutique brand of Trek, not the earlier Bilato-built bikes under his name.

Given the color and the graphics, I would guess it's a repainted something.
Might be a high quality something, but it's hard to tell from the photos.

Yeah, looking again, it’s likely not a LeMond, so I rescind my earlier suggestion of $200 as an offer. Probably a decent frame but mish mash of parts, more like $50 or so as a project. My money’s on it being a Centurion

It is most definitely not a Trek-built Lemond. I focus on the Trek-era Lemonds because (1) those are the ones I know something about (I have a 2000 Zurich) and (2) the font of the graphics is from that era. It most likely is not a pre-Trek Lemond either, but I am not positive about that.
The big give-away, as someone has noted, is the Trek-era Lemonds were TIG welded - no lugs. They also came with a CF fork, not a lugged steel fork, also as mentioned above..
The guy's marketing makes me think that he cannot be trusted. Someone made sure that the graphics do not say "Lemond" but the listing says it is a Lemond. The guy may be on the up-and-up, but the ad sure does not smell that way. I say: Hard pass, walk away.

Yeah the fender eyelets don't fit for sure. If a Billato built Lemond you should find a rear brake bridge like this.
And then on the underside of the BB will be a frame size stamp and under that will be some letters stamped to indicate the tubing type.

Not sure it matters much I'm with other guys saying this bike is mid 80's Centurion that has had some different decals put on it, The paint frame details and parts seem to match the first year 83 Centurion.
