Var makes a toolkit (PE11000) to repair those, cuts a 24mm thread and you get a special 24mm extractor to pull the crank (if necessary) and then you thread in what looks like self-extracting bolts with 24mm dustcap bits. If the crank is worth it email/call around to specialist bike shops - find one with that tool and stick it in the post.

have a very clean '85 Dura Ace in 26.8, if you want to go *that* high endish. fluted micro-adjusting, not the aero type.

I recently bought a used Regina Futura set, missing the freewheel tool. Seller had no idea what he had but "assumed" it was complete. I looked at it and thought, "Cool set" and saw it had a two spare freewheel bodies and what appeared to be a body mounted to the hub.

After I got it home and cleaned it up I discovered the "body mounted to the hub" was actually a nice and complete Regina Extra BX and there were now two spare bodies with no hub to mount them to.
So, either someone has a Futura hub they want to sell/trade off or, alternatively I can trade what I have for something interesting. I'll throw in the box and the two spare freewheel bodies but since the Extra doesn't match I'll keep it. I have to keep the freewheel tool as it's the last one I have.

Absolutely against shims. This application also shouldn't have flutes, ideally.

Seatposts shouldn't. If there is enough material to make flutes in, the wall was too thick to start with. Reducing weight by removing the part of the wall that bears more of the stress only works if you can't do maths.

It's for a Raleigh Sports, so flutes would be over the top. They look great even though their whole premise is flawed as you point out, but it just doesn't work for my specific build.

DEFINITELY IN SEARCH OF:

SUPERBE slotted levers w/ 24.0 mm clamps. They do not need to be pristine. Hoods unimportant.

COULD BE IN SEARCH OF:

SUPERBE 4700 calipers. Preferably w/ original pad holders & wheel guides. Can be nutted or recessed.

HAVE:

Funds in PayPal and/or a variety of components for potential trade.

EDIT: 24mm clamps was a brain fart. 23.8 clamps will be just fine.

UPDATE: I’ve procured levers. May still be interested in calipers.

Does anyone have need for a Shimano bar end shifter with a Sturmey Archer 3-speed indexing body Frenched into a SL-BS64 lever arm? Three speed. I have no such IGH’s.

This is embarrassing - it was a rubber Shimano lever tip used on the SA bar end. No actual mechanical wizardry.

Don't sweat it! I'd make the same mistake. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there's shared tooling or patents somehow, looking at the thing.

ISO narrow spacers for TA Pro 5 vis cyclotouriste chainrings. The standard spacers for doubles are 3.5mm thick but they also made ones that were around 3.0 or 3.1. It's a long shot, but figured I'd try here. I have four of them, and need two more.

The fork needs paint around the top due to some surface rust otherwise chrome on stays and socks

Sealed Cart Bearing swap, 4 for 3:
Sometime back I needed a pair of sealed cart bearings for something, decided it was more cost-effective to buy a lot of them than just the pair, but wound up with extras (whoda thunkit?)

But now I DO have a project but need a different size, so...

Have: 6903 RS (double rubber seals, black) advertised as ABEC 5 but not marked as ABEC anything (so YMMV), Chinese made, 17 x 30 x 7, never used, you get 4 of them.

Need: 6902 RS (double rubber seals, any color) would take same quality (but nothing below ABEC 3), new, made in any country, 15 x 28 x 7, I get 3 of them.

OR will entertain swaps for something else if you have the (3) 6902 RS and want to discuss options, I have lotsa-lots of stuff.
EDIT: Update, I decided to repeat my foolish buying habit and just ordered the bearings I need online. This time I will end up with only one extra (so, baby steps forward)!
