Back in the Rotation

I recently found myself without a Geared bike after gifting my Marin Muirwoods (to my son) and trading my Norco Indie for another Single Speed.
Fortunately, I had a Giant OCR3 road bike (collecting dust for many years because riding Drops became uncomfortable) and converted it to a flat-bar.

I guess it can be considered a Fitness Hybrid now so here it is. Happy to get it back into the Rotation!

2001 Giant OCR3 - Before

After

Parts used:
Easton 22" straight bar, ARX PRO 3T 120mm stem, Shimano BL-R550 brake levers, Ergon grips, Microshift Mezzo's,
Mavic Open Pro with 105 hubs, 105 FD/RD

That looks nice. Yeah -- pretty much THE definition of a flat bar road bike!

Good job! This season may find me doing the same to my LeMond. Thinking of these for the shifters: SL-A09 / SL-T09 – microSHIFT

Thanks hokiefyd...I tried swapping the 23c for 25c to make it less Road Bikie but the clearance between the seat tube and the tire was too tight for my liking.

Thanks freeranger....the Mezzo's I'm using aren't the usual index finger/thumb shift. It a little strange getting used to the dual thumb shifter.
I was initially looking for "friction" shifters and would have sprung for a set you posted. But parts are hard to source these days and at $39CDN for the pair of Mezzos it was a no brainer.....

Made some minor changes....
Removed the "big ring", F derailleur and shifter. Moved the middle ring to replace the "big ring" but left the granny ring (for now).
I rarely used any of the rings except for the middle ring. I figure if I ever hit a steep hill I'll stop and manually move the chain to the granny ring.

Thanks Outrider1....I'm very happy with the results. Best part is it's no longer just a dust collector anymore
