Here's a closer look at it.

That's a nice one. It even has the original tires.

Just finished rebuilding my '83 Expedition I found back in January. Took it on a quick ride last night and it's like riding on a cloud. Updated the cockpit (Nitto B135, Nitto Technomic, and TRP RRL) and swapped in a new Tange cartridge BB, but other than that all original. Every component was stripped, cleaned, polished, and lubed as needed. Looking to take it on an extended ride this weekend.

Great looking bike, but the background is very 'busy'.. hoping you'll post again with a more complementary background.

Thanks, and agreed. Needed a quick spot to prop it when I took those and that wall just happens to be the wall to my backyard so it was easy enough.

I do have these now though...

Lovely bike.
What shifters are they?
Are they the ratchet type?
Cheers

84 or 85 Expedition.

Excuse the shoe laces. I'm still trying to figure out a decaleur for the box.

Thanks polymorphself. Yeah it's insane and huge, but could you even picture a medium/normal sized bag with that headtube? I am glad that it worked out.

I don't have Instagram.

I do enjoy much smaller bags up front aesthetically when volume isn’t needed, I think a medium would also look really good! The filling out of the head tube with this bag is nice though. Ends up perfectly under the bars.

Another plus, I know where to put the kids when they need to go in the time out box.

That's a RuthWorks bag, right? Have been looking at bags lately and theirs look like they're well designed and made. couple questions:
Are there straps on the bottom to hold the bag on a rack?
Is there velcro or some other means to hold down the top flap when riding, other than the rather long elastic loop?
Do you think a decaleur would eliminate the need for side straps?
Thanks
Doc

This bag is from Swift Industries. There are four velcro straps on the bottom that loop around the rack platform. A decaleur would secure the top of the bag very well, eliminating the need for tying it off to the bars. I will get a decaleur soon.

There's no velcro on the top flap, but that is a good idea.

For whatever it's worth, I bought this bag partly because it is one of the tallest ones available(without going custom). And. The color appeals to me.

right?? not many head tubes that allow you to carry, say, a quiver of sleeping pads stacked vertically in a rando bag!

Nope it's friction shifting, not indexed. If that's what you mean.

They look just like the shifters on my '85 Miyata 610, which are Shimano L-412, And are part of the Light Action group I believe. They do have a ratcheting, not indexed, action kind of like some of the Suntour shifters. They are pretty nice.

Ah, yes, that’s accurate. I suppose they do ratchet a bit.
